    ...but I have also decided I quite like that 'baked on' look.

    Yep the napisan on the racks works well. First hat the oven with a dish of hour water in it, allow to cool just enough so you can work with it, remove the racks, sprinkle the still steamy, warm oven with bi carb and spray on some white vinegar a scrub/wipe clean. Wipe away the residue with a wet cloth. Line your bathtub with some old towels, lay your racks in there, sprinkle with napisan and run just enough water to cover the racks. Leave overnight then in the morning go over them with a scourer (not much elbow grease required) and rinse.

    I recently bought norwex oven cleaner. Seeems to work well but to be honest I haven't tried it for myself, the demonstrator did my oven for me at a party.
