Thanks again. I think I will just go ahead and order it tomorrow. Can't believe that happened to you! So did you lose the $1050?

This evening I saw Dr M - the things he's changed for next FET - increase Clexane to 60 per day (I did a couple of cycles at 20, then a couple of cycles at 40, now he says to do 60 - sigh, why wasn't I just given 60 in the first place?!!) and like this cycle start Clexane a week before ET, don't worry with aspirin as the increased Clexane will cover that, have 400 progesterone pessaries for the FET even though FS says it's not needed (I did self medicate with 90 crinone this cycle as I still had some of that left over from a previous cycle), and do the IVIG 7 days before ET, as this time I did it just 2 days before ET. I queried about only having intrallipids/IVIG only on Saturdays, as this doesn't always fit in 7 days before a transfer, and he indicated that he does sometimes do it on other days. I got the feeling that he's realising that this timing is important, and maybe if everyone pushes this with their Dr M consultations, that he may offer this twice a week to cater for our ETs. I think this will be a big step, but an important one. He wouldn't do dex, primarily because IVFA only tested for three of the NKCs, and though my 56+ is high, they didn't test 57+ and apparently the ratio between those two are important. So, I will be asking for IVFA to now re-do the NKC and include 57+ in it. So, if you are with IVFA, ask for a day 21 NKC biopsy which includes both 56+ and 57+.
It's so frustrating isn't it! I know these docs have to see what works for us but I wish I was on the dex and neuopgen straight up instead of mucking around. Now we only have one shot left at this!

Nidhulaine, yes i think you're right I think i'll be told I need ivig.....where is that money tree!

Hopefully, stay positive, do you have an appointment with Dr M? He is the master of immune issues and he will put you on the right protocol. I wasted 2yrs, 8 cycles and $$$$$ because FS's do not specialise in our immune issues.
I've had so many hysteroscopys and biopsy and scratches and freakin clean outs blah blah and never a hint of implantation either.

He had been on a conference in USA recently, they have found that Dexathemsone has improved egg quality.

For me, the last two cycles I have take it, for immune disorder etc. Last cycle I had bio chemical pregnancy. This cycle I'm now 8 weeks pregnant.
Who knows if that was the difference. But so worth if it can get us a sticky BFP.

Also I'd like to say thank for to everyone for sharing their journeys. You have helped me find FS who has a clue, and will treat accordingly.

Congrats on 8 weeks. That's wonderful. Interesting info regarding the dex too.

Frances.... I'd read that dex is good for egg quality, and I wondered if that's why Dr M won't prescribe it for me, as I'm using donor eggs and not my own eggs. But then that's interesting if you think it helped your immune issues too??

I hear ya frustration Bertie and so close. It's ridiculous what we go through and doctors don't seem to care as much as we want them to. I believe we will all get there in the end. I just hope it's not to far away now.

This 15mg of prednisolone is making me feel freakin fantastic! Good mood, clarity of thought, heaps of energy, getting so much done but hunger is increasing so I know I need to be careful about what I eat. I didn't know steroids would make me feel better than usual. I would be 4 weeks 5 days today but I feel zilch pregnancy signs. It's early days but it concerns me. I will put it down to the prednisolone.

In regard to prednisolone.....I have been on low mood for a very long time. With organizing and cycling, i am less productive at work than before. Maybe I am lucky, prednisolone only keeps my heart rate up for an hr. I am feeling tired all the time so i wish it is keeping me more energetic. I dont usually sleep well but that isnt due to prednisolone. I do notice the increase of hungriness within an hr of taking it.

Good luck all. Hope more good news rolling in on this thread soon.

Nidhulaine - you are obviously one of the girls that Dr M was referring to when he said it to me. Nice to meet you :-) I have had one CP without a procedure but all others (3) have been after one. I wonder if opening the cervix helps the sperm through and then the environment is cleaner for it to survive. Who knows but I hope I can follow you to a successful pregnancy. If I was in Sydney, I would be pushing for intrallipids straight away but as I am in Perth, I will wait to see what Dr M says after my next blood test. I hope thats not a mistake but if it is, I will learn the lesson the hard way. Story of my life.

    -[/QUOTE]

Hi Snowy, I personally don't believe it's the cervix opening for me as my daughter was 4.3kg and I doubt my cervix is too closed after passing that also even the hysterscopy where they just put fluid up there gets me pregnant, this pregnacy being my most recent case. Even on all the immune a meds in feb I did not get pregnant with a PGD Blast and then next cycle only did an iui but did a hysterscopy on D9 with all the big immune meds.
    I have talked to a few different FS, Dr M and even Karen Pace in the states and the two best theories as to why I can only get pregnant like this are as follows;
a study currently underway between post docs and IVFA is investigating a protein on the surface of the uterus and in some women too much of this can inhibit implantation and their answer to this is to perform the endo scratch to remove this in a spot and allow implantation. Now I have gotten chemicals on an endo scratch but for me with high levels of NKs the endo scratch can also stir up the NKs so although FS often recommend the endo scratch a reproductive immunologist won't.
Second reasonable theory was that my immune issues are a balancing act that I require some inflamation for implantation to occur but then my NK levels need to be suppressed.
eitherway if your story is similar to me consider doing a hysterscopy or Hyscosy (just imaging tests) around D9 in the cycle your ttc but make sure you are on enough immune meds that you can hang onto it. I loose all my pregnancies early if not on immune meds.
Would also add that the reality is no one really knows for sure why some women gets pregnant under these conditions but there is definitely a group of women out there unfortunately for me my immune problems have prevented me holding onto to a pregnancy without treatment.

dex gives the large improvement in egg quality in women with POCS or hormone imbalance as from memory it's something about balancing testosterone levels and that's how it works. A lot of women doing ivf do have POCS or slight hormone imbalances but definitely not all. For immune issues Dr M can tell from your uterine biopsy whether prednisolone will work for you or whether you need Dex, I asked him why he picked one over the other earlier this year. Even though prednisolne isn't nice it's a larger molecule that can't pass through the placenta so safer for bub if you get pregnant. Any women on Dex swap to prednisolone by week 9 and honestly the side effects particularly the moods and aggression are generally worse, I took 4 x 0.5mg Dex for 2 cycles and up to week 9 in pregnancy.

I'm using donor embryos and he changed me from pred to dex.
