Welcome hopesprings. You've had a long hard road. I hope Dr M is your final step in your journey.

I have intralipids next week and was told it would only take 2 to 3 hours. I know Dr M takes much longer and that this has been asked before but does anyone know why such a big difference in time? I'm hoping it doesn't make a difference to the outcome!

Hi ladies ive been lurking in the background for ages and just wanted to ask a question... those of you on dex .... for a fet.....how much are you on and when did you take it? Just curious as a friend of mine is on it now and wants to minimize the side effects of insomnia... any help would be great. I can't remember what I did... my dementia baby brain is playing up today <img src="images/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" alt="" title="Smile" smilieid="1" class="inlineimg"

SoClose.....Intrallipids with Dr M go like this - 2pm check in, 3pm saline drip to hydrate, 5pm Intrallipids, 9pm saline to flush through, 10pm finish. I don't know which state you're in, but someone else on here previously mentioned that Dr Benny (also in Sydney) does his Intrallipids in just a couple of hours, because he doesn't do the saline hydration before and after - maybe that's what you're doing? Hopefully some others will let you know.

Katiana... ooh, I'd like to know that too. Someone else here on another thread mentioned that they started Dex about 6 weeks before FET, but some else said just from ovulation/EPU, so I'm a little unsure - maybe it's a case that differs from person to person depending on their immune issues.

I'm not on dex, but prednisolone, from3 weeks before transfer, whether fet or ivf stim/epu. Dr m told me to take morning and mid morning. Whe. Doing the full stim cycle I didn't have any problems sleeping, but this time I have. Have started taking Mel to in again which is helping sleep, but I read somewhere you can't take while pregnant so will have to switch to restavit if I have problems sleeping I tww.

Chiefsgirl... Dr M never mentioned about taking Prednisolone half morning and night, so I always just took it in one dose each night. Thanks - I've put that on my question list for him too.

Hi Katiana, I took Dexamethasone for an FET (unsuccessful) and then the next cycle I did an iui, once again on Dexamethasone and got pregnant. I was on Dex from Day 1 and took 4 tabs or 2mg which is prob one of the higher doses. Unlike some I did not start lower and up after ovulation or transfer I was just always on the 2mg and stayed on that dose till the end of week 9 of pregnancy when I swapped to 25mg of prednisolone. I no longer even look like myself as I am so bloated from fluid and the weight gain but I am 15 weeks pregnant so it's worth it. If you get pregnant the pregnancy exhaustion somewhat offsets the insomnia of the steroids but that said I do still walk up regularly at 1am and dater at the walls for an hour before going back to sleep. Other main side effect of the Dex was feeling very angry which is not typically me but as I mentioned earlier it will all be worth it if I get this baby safely in my arms.

@missalina I had 5x intralipids during my pregnancy. 10days before transfer, 5w, 11w, 19w & 27w. The timing is determined on bt's that dr m orders for 4 weeks after the infusion to test surface markers. Then he schedules the next one based on results. Does your FS do surface marker bt? I haven't heard of any dr or FS who is as thorough as dr m with ongoing testing.
