@timetoshine congratulations for reaching the end of the road with ur journey ur little pot of gold must be the most amazing feeling on earth it's so good to hear ppls positive stories it's scary not knowing much about this and what the future may hold
@MGCbertie have you only had the one lot of intralipids so far? I haven't looked into the ivig I know it's a blood product but I'm abit overwhelmed at the moment so I thought id focus on the simpler things first , the more I hear about dr m the more I'm thinking of making an appnt just the thought of having two specialists and doing the ivf and treatment with him is overwhelming uni next semester I mite just postpone so u can focus 100% on this

So I've jumped out of bed and found my ANA results I don't understand them so I'll just write what they say ANA detected , titre/pattern 320 dense fine speckled , screened at a titre of 80

And to me that may as well be in another language lol does anyone know what that may mean

Missalina.... no, I've had three lots of Intrallipids now - before each of the transfers on IVF cycles #7, #8 and this present one #9. Not all women with NKCs have Intrallipids before the transfer, some just have it after BFP. But Dr M offered it to me when I first started with him on cycle #7, and I said I definitely wanted it before transfer to give me my best chance. IVIG is a plasma product (from humans) so is quite expensive to collect and process, and was the original immune plan of Dr Beer. Intrallipids is made from soy bean and egg mixture, hence why it's cheaper, and has only been developed in the last couple of years, but has brought costs down dramatically, and is thought to do pretty much the same thing. From how I understand it, it sort of puts a cosy coat around things so that they can't be attacked, hence why it wears off in 4-8 weeks and has to be repeated throughout the pregnancy.

I don't know who asked. But +1 littleTed. ANA is a simple BT. You can go from there if it is tested positive.

Oh...to clarify, few thousands dollar if you don't have PHI. Mind the small print. Minor gynaecological surgery might not be covered by some of the PHI. I just got medicare and am in the process of selecting a different PHI plan. I notice that some don't specifically say they cover minor gynaecological surgery and in fact don't. We got bitten hard with no cover on IVF and DH mTESE related stuff because were put on the wrong plan all these years -- it wasn't even fulfilled the visa requirement apparently and PHI didn't even realize and happy to take our money. Lesson learned.

Missalina: I am not sure why you have two values. My ANA value says 1:80 titre speckled pattern. And I am tested above normal on anti-DNA (indication of SLE?!?). My NK cell blood is evelated and thus further testing with biopsy. So it is not the pleasant feeling to know that I also have a problem if azoospermia diagnosis on DH isn't enough as a hurdle.

It seems like I should prepare a week or two annual leave for camping out in sydney for intralipid and the FET...........or else two separated trips. Airline company really likes us Perth ladies.

    Hi Ladies,
Ive only posted on here a few times, just reached 25 weeks with number 3 (pregnancy number 9) this time with Dr M's treatment. Ive just had my glucose test which has come back abnormal indicating gest diabetes (which have never had previously in pregnancy) Dr M has indicated this is due to the Steroids (dex & now pred). I have been weaning off since 20 weeks but since the blood sugar problems Ive had to wean off much quicker than first planned.

my question when did you stop taking Pred under Dr M's treatment?

Im a little worried about stopping

Im also on bedrest for two weeks due to abnormal Braxton Hicks (lasting half an hour at a time) anyone else had this ? also another side effect of the steroids?

    Thanks for reading!

He said those are to do with implantation (yes, I already knew I had a problem there) and lining issues (which I don't have an issue, mine has always been perfect). But then he said there wasn't anything extra to do or take to solve that!! Go figure! I'm already on aspirin, Prednisolone, Clexane and Intrallipds, so I'm interested to know if others are doing anything different with Dr M? Rainbow2015..... yes some women who have high NKCs or high ANA, have immune treatment without doing IVF, as their issue is the NKC not the actual egg issue.
Hi MGC - are your DQ results about having common DQ Alpha match with your hubby? If they are I read in dr Beer's book you could try LIT therapy where they inject you with washed lymphocytes made from hubby's blood. I haven't had the DQ Alpha testing as it needs to be sent to US but after 4 failed cycles i did test in china that found i wasn't producing blocking antibodies to recognize and protect implanted embryo and Chinese Dr said I needed LIT and that's what got me online to find this forum and Dr M. I asked Dr M about it and he said Aust doesn't test for it but he could do the LiT if need be.

@MGC Bertie I think I'd have opted to have them before as well it seems more practical that way by the time you ur positive the body has already started to attack are u also on steroids as well as yes intralipids or just trying one lot at a time the ivig seems very expense but if it's what u gotta do than it's worth it @bbhope I think the 80 is my reading, the other number I have no idea I shall ask my FS next time I see her perhaps that's why she wasn't worried about it we haven't looked at the anti dna as yet well I don't think she has but if this doesn't work after a few times it's good to know there's still other tests and avenues

Hi there everyone, sorry have been AWOL big time! gearing up for a cycle and just seem so busy all the time! Nooonoos I just wanted to suggest getting some magnesium powder, Bioceuticals Ultramuscle Ease is a great one, available from health food stores and also some chemists now. I read that steroids deplete you of minerals esp calcium and magnesium - read up on magnesium and premature labour etc, I would take it I'm sure it cannot hurt. Check out safety with where you buy it but I can tell you that I will be taking this product when I get pregnant due to taking steroids. Hope this helps you, don't' take magnesium sulfate though. Check it is a safe form of magnesium for pregnancy first!

MGC I am so happy for you!!! al fingers crossed my dear, will be watching to see how you go. How amazing to have those results!!! Wonderful, well done!

Nidhulaine, congratulations!!! hope all goes well!!! so good to hear from you and from Scruffy too and timetoshine! Also huge congrats to Simpson Desert, wonderful wonderful news about the birth of your little girl!

Sorry for missing anyone out, hope everyone is ok on this big big journey and welcome to all newbies!!!

Kiwi.... I'd have to look that up about my DQ levels, but it's not got anything to do with my DH, as we're using donor sperm. Bbhope.... yes, having to keep travelling from Perth adds that extra spanner-in-the-works for you. Gosh, and then people travel overseas!! The things we do!!

hi girls, i have not posted for a while (since thread 3). i just want to say that i have had 5 miscarriages and am now presently 21 weeks pregnant with the help of dr matthias. i suffer from hashimoto's thyroiditis with elevated thyroid antibodies, high natural killer cells with very high toxicity, endometriosis and mthfr a1298c homozygous. my story is very similar to @Nidhulaine's. my protocol was ivig, clexane, progesterone, dexamethasone, prednisolone and neupogen injections. i take thyroxine for my thryoid and multiple vitamins and supplements. i strongly believe in being fully tested for immune issues before trying to conceive again be it naturally or via ivf if you have had repeated miscarriages or ivf failure. i am happy to answer any questions and wish you all the very best.
