How often are there things that are thought to be safe - then a decade or two or three later are found to have all sorts of issues?
Yes they do understand what the effects are in our bodies, perhaps lay people don't. There's only so many parameters to examine when it comes to safety and efficacy of compounds, pharmacology, toxicology, metabolism, excretion, etc. Science's knowledge has increased dramatically over the last 200 years but now in this age of technology, there are some absolute basics we can be confident in, such as the anatomy of the human body...no new organs are going to be discovered and the ways we examine the effects of compounds on our bodies organs will retain the basics. The ingredients in vaccines have been around for decades and are known to be safe.
So are you really going to hold off on vaccinating just in case science has a remote chance of discovering an entirely new way of determining compound safety and instead run the risk of contracting a preventable disease and/or worse still, be responsible for the death of someone with a compromised immune system ? ;(

So what? What is your point? That because you believe this one vaccine is invalid they are all invalid?

It's a blood borne disease transmitted by sex, needle sharing with an infected person, sharing toothbrushes, tattoos. All pretty low risk to a newborn.

I'm wishing their was a vaccine for stupidity. There are several people I know of that could do with a few doses of that! Including the moron that wrote about vaccines being the cause of homosexuality! He may need a double dose and a few boosters.

Do you know what they do understand? They understand the effects that VPDs have on people and the complications they can and do cause. Do you know 1 in 5 people who contract measles will end up with complications. These diseases are far, far more dangerous to humans than vaccines. Just look at the stats - this is my favourite one. 1 million people died every single year from measles, until mass vaccinations in developing countries started in 2002, now it is down to 200,000 per year (which is still horrible), but that is an 80% decrease! How fantastic is that.

Poison is in the dose, water is poisonous at high doses. Scientists, researchers and doctors do know what vaccines do to our bodies, if you feel unsure, then you need to start researching. Go and have a look up exactly how they work, what the ingredients in them do etc. I think it will put your mind to rest, it certainly has put mine at rest.

Same, I had an argument with a couple of anti vaxxers from Mullumbimby (shock horror) one was convinced that her son became autistic after vaccinations 20 years ago and the other told me her kids were safe from VPDs because she did "chanting" with the kids in the bath every night to keep the diseases away. I mean seriously ffs!

The brilliant thing with science is it changes as we learn more. With vaccines- we already have a large body of information based on many years of research and study. And there is one thing that we DO know about them- they are safer than the diseases they protect against. Without them, you are far more likely to contract one of those diseases. With more and more people NOT vaccinating, these diseases are experiencing a resurgence. It is getting more and more dangerous to NOT vaccinate. There is SO much evidence for this.
Damn, I missed the fluoride stuff! Unfortunately I have an 8 month old with gastro and have a pile of work to do, so can't help out this time.
