    Care to share that study?

We actually DO have a way of knowing what vaccines do inside our bodies- it's the result of many years of extensive studies and research.

If by "free ride" you mean benefitted from the herd immunity mass vaccination has so far provided to people who cannot be vaccinated as well as those who choose not to vaccinate their kids... I can tell you now that free ride is over. Vax preventable diseases are in the increase, in big part due to this attitude.

I fully acknowledge that vaccines carry a small risk, I just don't think any of those risks are any where near as dangerous as the diseases they protect against (and a vast majority of adverse reactions are very mild). I think it's important to point this out to people who think adverse reactions are things like autism.
Anti vax advocates don't make much sense to me, I don't rely on anecdotal evidence, and I get frustrated by their "feelings" that contradict common sense (sorry if that offends anyone).

I'd be curious to see this study... I've never heard of this before?

I'm a bit interested in discussing these extreme viewpoints. Not to create a ****storm, but out of curiosity and possibly even to educate myself.
I'm pretty vocally pro vaccine. I'd consider myself pretty well read on the subject too. As well as discussing it here on the hub, I belong to a few other groups devoted to vaccine education and refuting anti-vax lies and misinformation. Even the most passionate among those groups will tell you no vaccine is without risk and that no vaccine is 100% effective. However, science has shown the risk from vaccines is extremely low compared to the risk from a wild virus.

You girls are so well-educated and speak beautifully on the subject. I so often find myself nodding along with your posts in agreement. I wish I could be as articulate as you girls

I'm happy to (as a previous poster put it) take a free ride on the herd immunity train until I feel my children are old enough to cope with vaccinations and until I feel that they wont do as much harm. Might not be backed by the whole they do less harm than the diseases they prevent thing but I feel its safest for my family.

My DS1 (6) is now fully up to date and my DS2 (5) has his 4 year old ones to do. DD (2) isnt vaccinated at all as yet and I am not planning on vaccinating her until she is at least 3, earlier than her brothers as they have only had mild reactions.

Mines not a popular choice on bubhub but I thought I'd add it since there arent many others to do so.
