Hi to everyone! A FET costs just $500 AUD... I've recently been back for #2 which was a fail unfortunately but with flights accomodation drugs and the FET it was cheaper than a straight FET here! I flew in the night before and out the next day. A long way for 2 nights but with a five month old baby at home was about all I could manage! Going back again in a month or so to do it all again so fingers crossed... Good luck to everyone cycling at the moment.

Wow TwoWhites! That is a quick turnaround. Shame it was a fail but that's awesome that you are just moving on and going back to try again next month! Good luck

Hi Hope for All, I have a low AMH but yet to get there, heading over in 3 weeks.. Yikes! But some of the other wonderful ladies on here may be able to help you there. With the donor selection, I basically tried to find someone that looked a bit like me and other things I looked at were the age, preferable under 30 and non-smoker. Plus timing came into it - as I was selecting in March so later dates (even July) seemed so far away (yet here I am 3 weeks away). It's all a personal choice. Everyone looks for different things, whatever satisfies you both.

AFM, I have booked our flights and car today! YAY! It's all real now. I have been looking at AirBnb all day practically and have shortlisted some, so will have to get my fiancé to check the short list and then we can book it.

I don't think anyone else on here is going there the same time are they? (9th July).

Hi everyone! I don't post very often these days but still lurk around and try and keep up with everyone.

Hope For All my AMH is barely on the scale at less than 0.1. It is basically your egg count so since you are using a donor it doesn't have any effect on anything. I have almost 9 month old twins from my trip to SA last year. Best of luck, you have found the right forum for all the info you will need when planning your trip and a group of amazing ladies to give you support along the way.

    Hi everyone

I have been MIA again....my little boy had his cleft lip repair surgery and although a very stressful time, it was a complete success. His scarring will be very very minimal. I cried my eyes out having to leave my 6 week old in the operating theatre...it broke my heart, but we are on the other side of it all now. We had to travel to Townsville as the surgery could not be done here in Cairns. I spent my very first mothers day in hospital but my present was a return to breastfeeding after Jesse was tube fed for 5 days. He is a little trouper....he healed so well that the stitches came out 2 days early and we were allowed to go home after 6 days in hospital. He was quite unsettled since getting home and just when things started to quieten down, he had his 2 month vaccinations!!! So he has been quite clingy but I don't mind as I have waited too long for mummy cuddles!

I have only had a chance to look at the most recent posts, so I know I will miss most people, so I am really sorry.

January - Fabulous NT scan news. How is your "puppy" and how did hubby go in the Cairns Ironman...I didn't get out to watch it as the weather was cold and rainy and I didn't want to take Jesse out in it. There are some really inspirational stories coming out of the race.

MrsErinR - I have everything crossed for you. Good luck hun.

Rainbow - Im so sorry that I missed the birth of your little boy... Congratulations. I am also on Motilium and Fenugreek...amazing stuff. Prior to Jesse's surgery, I had to "bank" breast milk for his tube feeding whilst still feeding Jesse as per usual.

Good luck to all the ladies who are embarking on this journey...you wont regret it.

Oh, nearly forgot....for those that are wondering how much a FET is with CFC, it costs approx. $475....I know someone that paid this amount recently.

    everyone.

Hi Hope for all, we go over in August and our fertility specialist in Australia just told us to select a young one (25 or under) with a proven pregnancy either through donation or her own. Other than that, we went with our gut feeling!

Thanks for your replies to my questions ladies.

We've narrowed it down to 2 girls. One from Gift ov Life & one from Egg Donation South Africa. Any opinions on how these two companies are in terms of service & commitment?

i was hoping to have a cycle this year if there's still time, plus we gotta find the $ for it. Does anyone else share my same fears about spending all this money & the uncertainty of whether it will work or not? I suppose I'd do anything to have a baby either way.

Hope for all - I used EDSA and could not be happier with them. You should know though that EDSA is linked or part of CFC. This doesn't mean that you cant use another agency. My criteria for a donor was a proven donor with blue eyes and we happen to find our perfect donor with EDSA. I would suggest to go with what ever agency that has YOUR perfect donor. The way that DP and I finally chose our donor was that I printed a whole heap of donor profiles that had our criteria and I asked DP to pick his Top 10 and I would pick my Top 10 without each one of us discussing. We happened to pick the very same Number 1 and our Top 5 happened to be the same but in different order. Then we discussed our first, second and third choice in detail.

I think everyone on this forum has had the same fear of dollars and whether it will work or not, but to be honest...persevere, you will never know unless you try. I will say one thing though....I found my Cape Town donor cycle the easiest to deal with and go through - mentally, physically and financially. It worked on our 9th IVF, including 2 donor cycles here in Australia. We treated our Cape Town cycle as a holiday of a lifetime with 4 CFC appointments and hoped we came back with excess baggage....and that is exactly what happened.

My AMH is also very low but that is to be expected with my age. I commenced IVF when I was 44 and my AMH was 4.4, but within 2-3 years, my AMH was 0.1%. The donor program at CFC has a 70% success rate....also, have a look at the Roll Call put out by January and you will see the forums stats.

Persevere....I am sure you will not regret it.

    Hi ladies,

I can't decide if we should transfer 1 or 2...Some of you have transferred 2 blasts and some only 1... my Melbourne doctor suggests 1 blast... I have always gone with 2 (day 2) with my own eggs, but with donor eggs at blast stage, I'm not sure.

To the ladies who have had / are having twins, was the pregnancy very difficult and were both babies healthy?

    Thank you for any suggestions...
