Have safe flights Jodi and Sunflower!
Esperanza wishing you all the best for beta, what brand of hpt did you use?
Helon, all the best for this cycle!

AFM, had a bit more spotting yesterday afternoon which always manages to freak me out, but it stopped soon after starting and only lasted about 2 hours, taking it very easy this weekend and another 'reassurance' scan on Tues. We had a scan last Tues and all was looking good at 8 weeks and I heard the heartbeat for the first time!

Hope everyone else is going well. Good luck with your planning!
My tip for Cape Town if you're driving is be hyper aware on roundabouts... no one ever indicates! Lol.

    Em x

As I have said in previous posts taking washing to a laundromat is dirt cheap, I didn't realise it was so cheap for this service too.
This is a great bit if info - really handy as you may not be staying near a laundromat - this was our sit and we spent a small fortune on hotel laundry. Thanks and good luck with 2WW

January - I can understand the mixed emotions - all of this can be so hard - giving all my positive vibes that the little on can catch up with his brother/sister

Esperanza - night before and morning of our blood test the line was so faint would have needed a microscope to be sure - yet the beta was in 140s - those things can be evil so don't give up yet - waiting for your good news

Babydreamer - many women on this thread have severe imune symtoms and their specialists help them a lot in prep. For others, like me its just bad eggs. I had it suggested I had implantation failures and underwent endo scratches. I asked if I should do this before CT to be sure. The FS said lots of patients that feel they have implantation problems, go to CT and then come back pregnant. This was correct in our case. I kept it simple this time, threw away the pill cocktails and it seemed to work. Good luck

Biba - holding out that the ones left will be good and strong

Em - good luck with the scan - everything seems good despite the spotting

We used a laundry service while we were there too, a drop off, pick up place near cavendish square shopping centre, if you dropped it off by 10am it was ready to pick up by 2 or 3 and cost about $6 AUD per load, the place was called Annie's - I made sure we did it the day before heading home so we came home with a suitcase full of clean washing, so I didn't have to do it!

    Hi everyone.

We have been saved, I think. Since things sort of fell in a heap on Tuesday, we have managed to find a new donor who is available to start straight away and has agreed to donate to us.

The clinic and the agency have been really helpful expediting things along. The new donor is proven, but she does need re-screening so that is being arranged very quickly. They advised me to stop the pill on Sunday as planned, so I presume that means we're still working to the same dates. What felt hopeless on Tuesday now again feels hopeful.

That said, I am pretty jealous of you Tittle with your treatment plan already in hand! We are supposedly leaving 2 weeks from today and still don't have one, nor have we been able to book flights.... This doesn't sit well with me. I'm a real 'organiser' and I don't like winging it.

Thanks for all the tips on the laundry.

A question, may be silly, but when you go through immigration do they ask you the purpose of your visit, and do you tell them? or just say it's a holiday?

    x

    Hi Emski!

You must be starting to feel a little relieved to have found a new donor!

It's good we have a plan already. We picked a date 4 months ahead of when we first started organising CFC and donor to give us time to book leave from work etc etc(we are both 'organisers'). We were still doing an IVF and waiting for the outcome!(but not with much hope left)

We are also very fortunate that our FS knows DrLR personally so the information flow is quite quick.

We are a little jealous of the people who seem to start planning and then are in CT the next week! We wish we were there already.

    Hi all,
So much happening with everyone as usual. Hard to keep up.
Great you got to hear the heartbeat emski! How cool would that be.

All the best to Jodi & Sunflower travelling over to CT. Enjoy your stay - hopefully no stresses while there!

Welcome Babydreamer! You have found a great thread.

Mrs Erin - Fantastic news that all has now fallen into place with a new donor and you can keep on the same time frame.

January - I really hope that your twin pulls through and catches up to the other one. Would be worrying, but having said that its wonderful that the other one is going nice and strong! Take care.

Esperanza, my fingers are crossed for you!

AFM - I have my protocol and have my date which will need to be confirmed as soon as I pay the deposit and after the donors tests come back. I have been waiting to pay, but have been told to wait and they will tell me when. So looks like I can now finally pay and get it all happening! My first appointment should be the 9th July. (All going to plan that is). I can't book anything yet, but sounds like it won't be long. I will be going with Dr Wiswiedel and Cyndi. Anyone have experience with them?

I hadn't thought about customs at CT and that classic question - why are you here. Good answer - ill just say holiday too.

Hi everyone.... just wanted to say I have been reading along for a long time, with the thought of going next to SA. It was with all your inspirational and successful stories about using DE, that I eventually / finally moved on, and this cycle my sister said she would have one go at donating her eggs to us. It's been very hopeful so far..... at EPU she got 10 eggs with 9 of them mature. Then fertilisation overnight was 8 out of the 9 mature eggs!!! We are all so over-the-moon about such great numbers. We've never had numbers like this with my eggs, in fact we didn't get much more than that over 8 full stim cycles! I'm feeling rather excited about it all now.

Of course a little worried that my body is going to let it all down, and so hope that the intrallipids and other meds for NKCs work their magic this time. Anyhow, there's nothing more I can do, so just have to wait it out. We'll find out on Mon (day 3) what the embryos are doing, and then look for transfer on Wed (day 5). So thanks everyone for your encouragement about DE, as this has really given us our best shot so far for a take-home baby xx Many thanks

Congrat Bartie... Everything cross for you ...

dear all, can anyone help me with this, I just got an email from CFC regarding the embryo update which say :

This is a notification of embryo development. We have 5x6-8cells growing.

What at dose it mean... I have no idea...
since we won't be able to go for fresh embryo transfer they will freeze it.

I m concern as I have seen many ppl here who after transfer of two embryo didn't had anything left to freeze. I just want to ask that do CFC keep the fresh embryo (which are left from transfer) for further monitoring. Or do they freeze remaining ones in day 5.

Also what are the chances of success in case of FET.

    Thx
