Thank you lovely ladies I am a little teary reading all of your well wishes, it means so much

I haven't been able to get my exact HCG number but am feeling confident with the early POAS results and my extreme symptoms ie. nausea, sore boobs, cramping and murderous hormonal moods

    Em - love Anchorman

Sunny - may have that bump after all when I visit

Laned - for some reason the roll call keeps me sane and gives me hope

Will update when I get my actual numbers hopefully tomorrow

JANUARY - woo hoooooooooooooo! Best wishes for the next 8 months!

Thanks to all for your well-wishes KLM, MrsErinR, Wishmeluck, Esperanza, Blinky, Emski, January, Sunflower, ejj87, laned, Lozby, Sunny15 and anyone I may have missed - I really appreciate it.
I've gone a bit quiet on here as I am so conscious of not getting ahead of myself just yet. I'm sure I'lll relax more later but I'm probably a little too aware of the difficult journey ahead ( I think it is called paranoia!).

Regarding donors - I was influenced by a Dr Sher article, who recommended choosing a proven donor between 25-32 as a slightly older donor has more established and reliable cycles. But obviously this forum has plenty of successful cycles with young unproven donors so who really knows. My acupuncturist said it best when she said we women are unpredictable, you just don't know when a donor may have a disappointing cycle. I suspect my 25-year-old proven donor had a poor cycle in Dec when we had "slow" blasts transferred on Day 5 and no frosties. In March, my new 28-year-old proven donor, with three previous DE successful cycles and two of her own kids, obviously had a great cycle for us, as we have 7 frosties waiting for us if we need. She had also had quite a break between her last donation cycle ( unlike our Dec cycle who had last donated in Oct - which I found out too late into planning). And finally I asked Dr Matthias (from the NK cells thread) just this weekend, when I did an intrallipid treatment to guard against an NK cells flare up, and his wisdom was that some donor are just better match for us than others. And that is something we are never going to know until we give it a shot! Personally I hope it was me giving up coffee and booze for a month before the transfer ( although experts would say you need at least three months for dietary changes to take full effect) and the very tight leash I kept on DHs drinking!!!

And so I return to my favourite answer- an unpredictable mix of luck and it being a numbers game.

Happy planning ladies - Jan, Sunny, rainbow Emski, laned - we are all proof of a bit of luck and giving it a go. I wish you all the best for you're upcoming cycles.

    Hi everyone,

Long time lurkers and first time posters.

Have been nervous about posting here in a public forum but here goes.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for sharing your stories and advice.

    Our story so far...

    Me & DH both 44

    2 x miscarriages

    2 x IVF cycles - BFNs

After the last miscarriage we were going to give up. Then we heard about Nurture.

DH and me are in SA right now with Dr LR.

Please send us your prayers / baby dust / positive vibes.

    Thanks,
    Hope44
