Hi Rainbow, after so I wasn't that. I haven't had any more bleeding, just slight cramping. I ended up having some panadol at about 3am which calmed that down. Dr Heylen at CFC emailed me back and confirmed it's considered normal and could still be implantation bleeding. I had 5 hours sleep so feel a lot calmer now thank you - whstever will be, will be at this stage. Mind you, I'll still be cactus for beta tomorrow and waiting on the follow up beta.
@angelmama74 how are you going lovely?

    Em xx

Hi Ladies, I've been MIA for a while as nothing too exciting has been happening with me, but wow. Sooo much happening in here. I'll try my best to get through it all

Firstly congratulations to Sunny, Anait, Plimpy, Jennilee, Amethyst, Allieoop and BJ. Enjoy these precious times of motherhood. BJ, that sounds like a very scary story, I couldn't possibly imagine it. So thankful you are both ok.

Angelmama - Congratulations on your BFP. So sorry you've had a few scares though and I hope everything is going ok for you and your bubs.

Thembs - Sorry to hear you couldn't use your donor after all the hard work of finding her. So glad you have found another though.

Rainbow - Hope all is progressing well for you.

Abundance - How are you travelling along?

Donna - I didn't get to know you, but from how these ladies speak of you I can tell you are a wonderful soul. Sincerely wish you all the best in fighting this.

KLM - have you had your donor confirmed yet?

MrsErin - Yay for finding a donor. I wish you all the best with your trip.

Sunflower - Our bodies never seem to cooperate when we want them to. So glad it's finally arrived for you. I only needed to take the pill and progynova so I didn't have to worry about sourcing the other meds.

January - I was so upset to read of your rocky journey there, but so happy that everything worked out for you in the end. Has made me a little nervous because my donor has never done this before. I hope she has everything under control. Is the donor egg bank something you have to sign up for when you're at the clinic? Good luck for the next couple of weeks.

Michdynasty - This isn't an easy journey, and even considering the egg donation journey is a huge step. It took my DH and I a lot of soul searching to come to the decision to go this way. In the end, it's all about family, not how that family came to be. Good luck.

Blinky and Feather - Good luck for the next few weeks.

Emski - How exciting. Soooo happy for you. Sorry to hear you're stressing out, I know i would be too. But as everyone has said, this is common so try not to stress.

Lozby - I had also never heard of fluid in the uterus, so I googled it. Hopefully they can drain the fluid? Fingers crossed everything works out for you, but you do have fantastic numbers so I'd say you have a pretty good chance even if you have to have a return holiday.

Hello to anyone I have missed

AFM - Ive finished the pill and bleeding has started. Yay. Starting my progynova on the 9th and going for scan a week later to see how the lining is coming along. We fly out to CT on the 21st. Very nervous and excited at the same time.

KLM - have you had your donor confirmed yet?

    Hi Esperanza,
No I haven't heard yet. Perhaps she is still on her honeymoon or hasn't yet advised the clinic. I will have to follow them up tomorrow. All this waiting....I better get used to it though!

Very soon for you though - how exciting. I wish you all the best for your trip.

Thembs, so disappointing that you missed out on your first donor. I totally understand the feeling of just wanting to get the ball rolling. This first part has been really slow. I’m happy that you’ve managed to find a new donor.

Blinky76, congrats on your transfer. Fingers crossed for you hun.

January, I am so sorry to hear what happened to you. I’m not sure what recourse you would have? Sadly probably none. I’m happy that CFC got you over the line and to transfer. Did you get any explanation from the donor or her agency as to why it happened? Did she misunderstand or was she just careless? They should add that to a lessons learnt list so that they perhaps remind their donors about triggers.

    Michdynasty
, welcome. Sorry that your husband is a bit hesitant. It takes them some time to adjust. I think because we do most of the research and they just don’t ‘get it’ until they’ve had some time to digest everything. Probably much like we all had to digest the idea of donor eggs in order to feel comfortable ourselves.

Lozby, bummer about your lining. So disappointing, but what incredible egg numbers! OMG! Do you know what amount of FSH they take?

BJ04, what a horrific experience. I’m so happy to hear that you’ve come through the other side of that to meet your lovely little boy. It’s something we just never imagine isn’t it. As if getting pregnant isn’t hard enough. You’d think we could then just relax and have a smooth ride but sadly that just doesn’t always occur.

MyHeart, can you see if MS is genetic? Google it? That’s what I would do. I googled quite a few things like that.

Emski, Just saying Hi here too. We’ve caught up offline! I didn’t want people to think I had overlooked you. So happy for you.

Rainbowchaser, I have added ‘Fork’ to our to-do list. And, as for those digital tests…the same happened to me. I was thrilled to get a 2 pack on sale and then one of them didn’t work and I was so pi$$ed. I’ve been happy with the
FRER but I have heard of others having evap lines and false positives.

Amethyst, congratulations on the bith of your boys. They are a great size. I’m so happy for you.

Sunflower, does the CF test really take that long? That has worried me a bit. We are hoping for a May Transfer too.I’m also awaiting AF and then I’ll start the pill.

KLM, happy to hear you have found your donor. It’s agonising waiting to hear if they’re free and willing isn’t it!?

Tittle, a very big welcome to you and DW. Great to have a guy on here.

Butterfly39, hello again! Wow, this is getting long so I’ll stop the personals and just say Hi to everyone else.

AFM, I have good news. We have now signed and actually paid our deposit. It’s really happening. Now I just have to learn some patience. I certainly haven’t had much through the donor-choosing and test-gathering part. Who else expects to be in Cape Town late May/early June?

    Default ..

Thanks for the warm welcome all! Especially laned, that just about bought a tear to my eye....like a fair few of the posts here do...(in particular DJSHEARS, sincerely wishing you all the best)

Great little community..I must admit these forums are addictive...a year ago i would have laughed if you had told me i would be eagerly reading them..or even reading them at all ... Great to see so many having success.

Surprised there isnt more guys here! Be good to read their thoughts. Must admit i was a tad hesitant on going the donor path at first, but didnt take long to be all for it. When my DW first told me she was doing IVF (with donor sperm), i didnt think the process was such a big deal etc (I had no idea about any of it, odds of success, toll on the body and the mind), but after much discussion, research and unsuccessful cycle and FET, i realised what is involved and how hard it can be...(especially after an early positive then MC). Taking all things into consideration, SA was the logical choice for us .

Like most, we will be having a bit of a holiday before hand, hopefully see the wilder-beast and spend a few days in Zanzibar too. Need to make sure the DW is well rested!!(she works too hard!!)

Good luck to all those currently waiting results!!

Erin- so glad you now have everything in order. I hope I will finalise everything this week. We are aiming at being in CPT on the 29th till the 12th June.
Blinky and Feather- good luck on your TWW :fingers crossed: fingers crossed:

Em- Congratulations!!! Those dark lines are good news. And spotting is common during implantation, so can't wait for the BT tomorrow.

January- congratulations on being PUPO, what a rocky path you just been through. Thanks for sharing your story, also thanks to the wonderful staff at CFC for being behind you all the way. My nan use to say it gets very dark before dawn, I hope that shadow of darkness was a sign that you are going to finally see the light on this long journey IVF.

BJ- Congratulations! on the safe arrival of your bundle of joy. I'm glad all is well after such a scare. Take care of yourself and enjoy the cuddles.

Welcome to all the newbies, and good luck to everyone I might have forgotten.

Esperanza - the donor egg bank is something you opt in, or or out of when you sign the contract with your specialist. He/she will explain how it works. Basically it's a bit of an insurance policy if your cycle is a disaster which mine was. There is no additional cost. There are 2 boxes to tick on the contract. Don't have it in front of me right now but you either agree to donate eggs from your donor (if you get more than 15) to the bank and then you are eligible to access the egg bank if necessary. I think if you don't agree to donate your excess eggs and your cycle is a disaster then the egg bank is not available to you. That is my understanding. I opted in thank god as I at least still have a fighting chance

MrsErinR - have not had any communication from the agency and will email them to relay the story. I'm sure they would know. I am surprised I have not had an email from them yet as they were quite pro-active with emails before the cycle went pear shaped. My guess is that the donor made a mistake. I don't think it is really worth chasing exactly why as it is done and I'm sure it was an accidental mistake. The poor girl had to have 2 procedures in one day. You make a good point maybe the agencies managing these donors need to be a little more pro-active in ensuring their donor's are following and understand the med schedule. My donor had done this several times before so this was a very unexpected scenario

A big shout out to Emski72 - best of luck tomorrow love. May you have great numbers and no more bleeding to worry you xx

Emski - Have everything crossed for you today. I know it will be of little comfort, but so many of us have experienced bleeding very early on. Can't wait to read of your POSITIVE news. Xx

Tittle - we made a holiday of our experience too. In the event we were unsuccessful, I wanted something positive to remember the journey by. The safari experience was truly out of this world. We also kept a video diary of the trip and process to show our little man when he is older. My DH was all gangbusters with the DE process, he was also up for donor embryo if needed. It was me that needed to get my head around the whole process.

GirlfrmSyd and Butterfly - wishing you both a warm welcome and the very best on your donor journey.

Jan - hope those embies are snuggling.

Blinky - how you going in the TWW?

Angel - when's your next scan?

    Hi all,
Just a slight setback - our first choice donor has advised she wants to complete her April donation to someone else (obviously already pre-arranged) and then discuss with her new husband before advising if she will go again in July! I completely understand though, but it's another wait for a potential no! Just wondering if I should go with our second choice (also donating in April) and ready in July. At least we might be able to lock her in... Decisions...

Sorry to be all about me!
Good luck today Emski, look forward to hearing all about it.

Welcome Girl from Sydney! I am also going through the same place. This forum is a massive help, all the ladies (and a guy now) are so welcoming and supportive and full of knowledge to share.

    Welcome also to butterfly!

Hope you all have a great Monday!
