Default Cold purée ideas for 3 year old...

My son had an accident today and bit his tongue badly in the process, resulting in surgery under sedation and 10 stitches on his tongue.

He is only allowed cold purées for 48 hours and apart from smoothies, I'm stumped for ideas.

    Any suggestions?

Carrot and sweet potato, blueberries are a good superfood to add to smoothies and bananas are filling. Have a look at the baby food section for good mixes

    Oh poor little guy
My miss 6 split her lip very badly last year resulting in surgery and a two day hospital stay. I was making slushies using the V8 juice range - the fruit fusion ones (so had some fruit, some vegie content, sweet potato and carrot I think) and she would eat them from a spoon. That might help?

I'm making lots of purée at the moment for my 6 month old. I've been trying to experiment with tastier combos than the usual. I hope these help:

    Apple, banana and blueberry
    Apple and mango
Cauliflower and purple sweet potato with spring onion
Roasted carrot, pumpkin and steamed sweet corn

You can also poach a chicken breast in water, herbs and a clove of garlic and shred it up with forks. If it's still too thick you can purée it down with a machine. I've added the chicken to both the above savory combos and it tastes really good.

Sorry I just realised you said cold. In which case the savory ones wouldn't be too good. Unless you can make it just warm?

    Thanks for the ideas everyone

They were quite strict about cold purées due to swelling of tongue.

A cup of frozen strawberries and 1/2 an avocado with a dash of honey pureed. Sounds weird I know but it's amazing.

Maybe google cold soups? I have a recipe book with lots of soups that are meant to be served cold.

I wonder with thick smoothy type drinks if you could add some sustagen or protein powder/shake stuff?
