Default Essure. Has anyone heard of it?

I've just found out about a permanent female birth control method called Essure.

For those who haven't, It's done without surgery, is hormone free and permanent. They insert tubes into your Fallopian tubes and over the next three months, tissue grows over it, blocking any eggs your ovaries.

I thought I may have heard of a breakthrough like this, so I can only imagine it's relatively new in Australia, I saw it's quite common and popular in the US.

Has anyone heard of it or had the procedure?

I've heard of it, and had briefly considered it for myself about 2 years ago. However, since then, there have been more recent revelations about complications due to having it, which weren't plastered all over the internet when I first started looking into it. Now, I wouldn't even consider it (which is not an issue for me as DH had the snip instead).

    Here's a good starting point: http://www.essureprocedure.net/
