    Default Disappointment with NT scan.

    Hi Group.

I recently had my 12 week NT scan. I had a massive excitement build up as all
could relate too, yet feel I have been slightly robbed.

while the scan itself went great, baby is perfect, I am
terribly saddened by the zero pictures I received. As the sonographer was clicking away I could see the build up of pictures but at the end of session I was not offered even one picture!

I'm not sure if this is normal and I'm just being selfish, but I would have LOVED a momento for scrapbooking etc.

Has anyone else come across this?

It's pretty normal everywhere I've been- you normally get your scan pics a day or so later.

We get offered pictures on the day, you just have to wait a few minutes for them to be printed. This is at our local place though.

When we were having regular scans at the royal women's we didn't get offered any and we were too stressed to ask.

We didn't get anything from the NT scan either, but were given a couple of print outs at the morphology scan, these were both at the public hospital where I'm booked in. I had the impression only expensive, private places give out lots of pictures, whereas hospitals or bulk billing places are all business and just do what they need to.
Sorry you're feeling disappointed, I agree that it would have been nice. Go prepared for your morph scan, you could take a camera to film the screen with yourself if they don't do pictures where you're booked

I had my NT scan about two weeks ago and I received one long sheet of photos plus they even gave me a DVD!!! It was great to have them as the following day we announced my pregnancy to our parents, so it was lovely to be able to show the grandparents their future grandchild.

I got mine about a week later as they were sent to the GP. You have to remember that the scan is actually for medical reasons and it is some sonographers policy to not give scans directly to a patient. I wouldn't give up I'm sure you'll get to see you little bean soon ☺️ If not just ring and ask for a print off.

Our scan place gave us a DVD of prints within 5 mins of it finishing. I've been to some places that don't even print photos. I sometimes just scan the big negative film you receive later

We got a DVD with our scan but it cost $20 on top of the $340 for the scan

I didn't get any pictures from mine either. I knew I wouldn't though as there was a big kerfuffle a while back about the fact the hospital didn't offer pictures from scans.

It was free though so I didn't think it was unreasonable not to get pictures.

I got DVDs everytime I had a scan, and got two pictures printed at my nt. I asked for the DVD but he just handed me the pictures.

Edit: I should also add that all my scans were public except for the 3D one I got done
