Thanks for all of that girls, i understand the process now 😁 they are going to outsource my scan when i said i ovulate between day 12 to 14...they will scan me day 11 now. @nvandmv yeah i reckon it will be a late one, im still with AF which is mostttttt unusual! Day 7 i would usually be completely done n dusted! Hope all is well in there. Just wondering, do you ladies try for a natural pregnancy when doing a fet? There will be an egg there after all ...given i haven't had a successful pregnancy in 2 years im not likely to actually have it be successful anyway lol 😣

@Rtroops i can imagine it would have been overwhelming 😃 ivf is kind of like survival mode i think, you just get on with it and i can imagine it's only when you get that bfp that some sense of grief about the process itself can be fully realised. Be very good to yourself through this time. For some reason i thought it was your first ivf but it doesn't sound like it. What is next step? More bloods and a scan soon? Xxx

@Rtroops CONGRATS!!! A good story for those who get BFN on HPTs!
@blossom1 this process you have to be your biggest advocate. I am constantly feeling like I'm hounding them for information, questions etc and ringing around 1001 places all the time. It is very frustrating and time consuming.

AFM EPU is looking like Monday at this stage. So probably didn't need to be in Sydney so early

@lizlh oh bugger! I hope Sydney treats you well. Do you at least get to stay somewhere nice and enjoy Sydney food? Looking for the positives here 😉

@blossom1 I'm staying in a hotel in Potts Point which is really nice and fortunately my work has an office here so i don't have to take time off work. And my family DP and DD are joining me tomorrow for the weekend so that should be nice. It just all adds up to the cost though and rather inconvenient.
@leyshoja tell me about it! And all the constant testing. I look like an IV drug addict!!

Yep, that IVF cycle suddenly got a lot more expensive ! What a pain.
I've got to make the call shortly whether to keep throwing money at this or not. I've basically been told that yes, I may get embies each cycle, but the quality is now poor (my age) so its probably best to just go a donor egg cycle. I would probably continue doing EPU's until they get nothing (last cycle they only got 1 embie so it wont be long till its zero) EXCEPT now that my progesterone is high each time and the transfers get cancelled, I have to pay for an EPU then a FET the following month each time. So the cost has suddenly gone from $3500 (EPU) out of pocket, to $3500 + $1500 (FET) = $5000 out of pocket for each cycle.
Its a tough call. My brother has offered to lend me whatever I need but at success rates of around 12% at age 42, the odds are stacked against me. A donor cycle is $15000 out of pocket, so thats the same as 3 cycles with my own eggs.... what to doooo

Admittedly I still have 2 FET cycles left, but I have to have a backup plan if those fail. 2 of the frosties are good, 1 is poor, and 1 has vacuoles - so very poor. I'm not even sure why they froze that one... probably felt sorry for me

@leyshoja it is such a difficult question (what to do??) And you don't want to feel like you are throwing good money after bad. I'm too scared to add up all that we have spent on this because in addition to the IVF treatment $$ (and I've just had three failed FET back to back to back) I fly into Sydney every time to do that - which from Perth is about $800 return. And then when I do an stim cycle I have to stay in Sydney for a week or two - so add in accomodation.

But I think we just have to keep going...don't we?

Yes, I think we do. Its now or never for me, and I don't want to regret not trying hard enough in a few years time when its far too late. I've been keeping rigorous tabs on the costs and with this next FET I've spent a grand total of $56,000 in only 15 months, out of pocket $22,000 of that. Considering I never had any savings before I started this process (due to a recent marriage breakdown b4 that) this has really hurt me financially and I find myself with anxiety about the money side of it even more than the baby side of it, which sounds ridiculous, but right now I just don't know how to get out of this financial pit that I've dug. My dear brother can afford to help me out as much as I need and I can pay it back 'whenever or never' but the pride has still prevented me from accepting his offer. It just seems to me like everyone else expects something from him as he's quite well off, and I just don't want to be one of those people.
