Default Baby powder to stop ants - anyone tried it?

A friend of mine has just posted this on FB...

To keep the ants from marching into the house use Johnson's Baby Powder (it's the talc that is the deterrent) - solved a huge problem for us
Anybody else tried that? Gotta think it would be better than those nasty ant powders if you've got young kids? wdyt?

Tried this and it didn't work! I am so sick of the ants in our house we have nests everywhere! Going to get the Ouse sprayed next month!

That's a shame - I liked that idea! We get ants in fits and starts - sometimes they're everywhere and other times, very few. I think the vast amount of food the kids drop on the floor doesn't help...

I used it inside when we had them in and around the pantry and I haven't seen one in there since but have never tried it outside, I used ant sand last time which seemed to work well!

I've used baby powder and it's worked. You have to use a lot though!
