Default Do you still tuck your older children in at night?

Do you still tuck your school aged children in at night, read to them, kiss goodnight in bed etc? If not, at what age did you stop?

I try to because they fall asleep much more quickly and its the time of the day they have me all to themselves and usually open up a lot about whats going on in their world. They put themselves to bed, read for a bit, then I go in and cuddle then lights off.

My hubby thinks I'm 'spoiling' them and they're too old but I think thats a cop out coz he's too lazy to do it himself. Theyre 9 & 11. The 4 yr old I read with and he goes to sleep, the babies, I lie down with til they fall asleep.

I still tuck my 7 year old in, of course!

My DP still goes in and kisses his 13 year old son goodnight, as well as his 10yo and 6yo sons. Our 4 boys all get themselves ready for bed and then DP and I go in and kiss them goodnight once they're in their beds. DD is generally the only one who gets a story (she's 2).

My oldest is 8.5 and we cuddle, chat, read etc... before bed. I can't see that stopping any time soon as it's one of the loveliest parts of our day!

Nope... My 9yo takes herself off to bed at bedtime and reads to herself every night. This has been happening since around the time she turned 8. We still say goodnight and have a cuddle on the couch before bed.

Yep, still tuck all my kids into bed every night and go in and give them a kiss once their asleep before I go to bed. I will keep doing it until they tell me to stop. They grow up so fast, its my way of feeling like they are still my babies for a bit longer.

mostly my DD (nearly 8) gets herself ready for bed. we have a kiss and cuddle on the couch and she goes upstairs to brush her teeth, read etc.

lately she has been asking us to go up and tuck her in ... but mostly we say goodnight downstairs.
