    Hi furbabymum! Welcome

Just so you know, fertility injections are usually much less painful than a blood test. That's because the needles are generally very very thin like an insulin needle. There are some that are bigger but your main needles are thin. I'd like to suggest that if you have a nice fat roll on your tummy USE IT! Injections into fat hurt less if at all in my experience.

As for doing injections yourself, I prefer it. DH wasn't able to get the right angle and hurt me when trying so I find it less painful if I do it myself.

DH and I went straight to ICSI as he has a low count but I would have gone for IUI if given a choice. Less invasive.

And lastly, getting through it? Take everything one step at a time. See every little part you get through as a accomplishment because looking at the whole thing is just overwhelming. Be kind to yourself; give yourself time to lick your wounds if you get a BFN because if you're at this for a while you'll need those breaks. And use the ladies on here as a sounding board, shoulder to cry on, for advice or to just vent; it makes you feel less alone because the only people who truly understand all this are people who have been through it. Not even hubby will get it like these girls do.

Sorry for the long post! I hope your time trying is as short as it can be

At last the thread has returned, looked for it yesterday but it was no where to be seen I know Ladydee has been looking for it too.

Ladydee - Thoughts with you hun, hope you are starting the slow steps of recovery.

Mrs Hopeful - Hi hun, yes I had a blood test today but don't have much hope really. Hope you are starting to feel better and af is starting to ease so you can move forward with everything.

furbabymum - Welcome to the thread, hope your stay is short, as has already been said the injections are definitely not as bad as they first seem and are easier to self inject than you first think (easier said than done I know if you have a big phobia). I would maybe see if you can do your first few injections at your clinic with the help of a nurse due to your tendency to fainting, maybe the nurses will be able to help. As for keeping sane throughout all this all I can offer is to say take one step at a time as Karmajane has said, I think she has summed most people's feelings up very well in her reply there.

Karmajane - Hope you are doing well hun x

AFM - Just returned from a weekend away for DH's work, me and DD tagged along for the ride which has been nice, DD really enjoyed the flight . I have had my blood test today to test for ovulation but still not feeling positive, I have had constant CM of all descriptions since I have taken my trigger so much so I have had to wear a liner. I think my body is trying to do something by itself but not having too much success. I have decided it is time to take charge of my cycles and start pushing for what I think I need, I am going to ask for constant blood tests throughout my next cycle to find out what is going on and I want a scan in the first few days of my cycle to check I have no cysts there before I start my new cycle - time for some strong action I think!

Hope everyone is good and doing well in there cycles x

I ended up writing to the BH Moderators who put it back up for us....I've never seen that happen before?!

I think your plan sounds great...get demanding for sure! Goodluck for some surprising good results Heyside!!! xx

Mrs Hopeful - All the best for great quality and enough number of eggs this EPU! xx

Furbabymum- I found sitting down gave me a better fat roll to inject into and I always found that about 4cm below my belly button and to the right (I'm right handed) was the least painful....the very first one is the worst but you'll become an expert really really fast. The needle is teeny tiny. If you do get faint, try lying down with your feet elevated above your heart (I'm a Phlebotomist

Karmajane- have you guys tried any more sample collects yet? Hope all is well!

    How is everyone else going??

AFM- thanks for your support ladies xx I'm still hurting and mourning for the hopes and dreams we had dreamed for this baby. I'm still no where near ready for the drugs, injections, monitoring, anxiety and ups and downs that are sure to come from IVF so I'm choosing to just not think about that for the moment. We had some more huge news (on my birthday!) in that there was actually something wrong with bub...Trisomy 13 The more I've Googled on it, the scarier it sounds So....now I'm left feeling a huge range of emotions about the whole pregnancy? Wine has helped. I just don't know....I guess it definitely helps that we know that there was nothing we/I did wrong and that the poor bubba had no chance right from the beginning of conception The majority of Trisomy 13 bubs are a rare 1-in-10,000 chance and we have had Chromosome testing with my FS back when we started with TTC my dd so, that takes out the scary slim chance that this was hereditary thank goodness. I'm just taking one day at a time and that seems to be working for me. I have my follow up FS appt on the 31st March so, I'm slowly writing up a list of questions for him about what has happened and what is to come

    Hi guys!
My mobile app hasn't been working properly and so haven't been able to update.
Welcome furbabymum, I hope you do ok with the injections. The first couple you are hesitant but then it's like second nature! Good luck with your cycle.
AFM: I had my trigger on Thursday so ovulated on Saturday. So now the dreaded TWW! So if it doesn't work this cycle we will have a cycle off as we are going to fiji for a week. We will then do one more ovulation induction cycle.
I spoke to FS about IUI, she wants to do a laparoscopy and flush out my tubes before going to IUI. Has anyone else had this done? Trying to decide whether to go to this step or just keep trying with OI as it worked for our DD.
    Thanks!

Ladydee - Good work hun on getting the thread back, I have never seen that before either. Thanks for the support, would be amazing if I do get some surprising results think that in itself would be worth celebrating. Can really understand you not wanting to move on too quickly hun as you need to take things slow and make sure you are ready. Sounds like a good plan to write down all your questions and get some answers before moving on also.

pjk - Congrats on the trigger hun, try to relax in the tww (hard I know), hopefully this is the one for you and you can enjoy your time in Fiji with baby onboard

Hi Ladies hope all of you are doing well just been trying to catch up on the thread.

Ladydee - So sorry to hear about your lose my heart sunk when I read your news big hugs and hope your on the path to healing.

Mrs Hopeful - I hope your AF has eased up and not so painful my AF just reared its ugly head today being on the nauthuropath potions has actually helped AF has not been too bad.Good luck with the the injections and this cycle have my fingers crossed for you.

Karmajane - I hope things are going well for you.

Heyside - Glad to hear that you have decied to take charge thats excatly how im feeling at the moment. I Know my body was trying to ovulate this month but just didn't quiet make it had the CM etc...and OPK showed to be pretty dark but just not quiet dark enough I think I need the injections to ovulate. I hope your BT comes back that you ovulated. I know I have ovulated some cycles and not others its so fustrating. Are you doing IVF?

pjk - Good luck in the TWW and hopefully you will be travelling to fiji with a bub on board.

furbabymum - Welcome to the thread. The injections are not as bad as they seem the needles are very fine im not a fan of needles either im a big woosie i have DH do them for me and you can have your clinic show you how to do them too which is helpful. Also trying for our first we have done 6 rounds of clomid and one IUI now on nathuropath potions before moving on to IVF. Will probably move over to IVF in the next month or so. I know IUI has worked for some but i kinda felt like would rather save the $$$ would have spent on IUI and put towards for IVF as odds with IVF are slightly higher than IUI. Its so hard to know what path to take.

AFM - Still been on the Nathuropath potions which were increased and definitely gag worthy still. Had lots of CM right around CD14 and OPK showed starting to ovulate then stopped and on CD23 was looking really positive for ovulation but don't think quiet made it and lovely AF turned up today on CD33 cycle needs to be shorter and also only time i have ovulated has been doing the trigger shot so seeing nathuropath on 3 April so will see about getting a referral to a FS as i was not happy with the one I was using prior to this and time to take back control going to move over to IVF don't have anymore time to waste. Anyone doing IVF at the moment how do the IVF cycles work? Its is injecting and then trigger shot and EPU? How invasive is the EPU? Would love to hear from any of the ladies in here that have done it.

I was wondering what happened to this thread.
Ladydee I hope the time off from all this is just what you need. Hope you are feeling better xx

Heyside I hope that the BT shows you did ovulate. Hopefully you won't need to worry about next cycle but if you do it's good that you have a plan of attack x

Pjk good luck for the tww

Welcome furbabymum I agree with what the other ladies have said so far.
I started with 2 cycles of IUI then moved to IVF as financially it was better for us to go straight to IVF.

Twinkley sorry to hear this cycle didn't work. Maybe a combination of the potions plus injections might do the trick?
With IVF for me it is similar to OI injections daily with a 2nd injection starting a few days in (to prevent O'ing), then trigger, then EPU & ET, then I used crinone gel from ET til BT.
I go to a low cost clinic so EPU is done without anaesthetic, they just use Valium & gas (sounds scary but it's not too bad) I went home & slept for an hour then was fine the rest of the day.

I started injecting Sunday, first bloods & scan is Friday. Hope there's things happening in there.

    Hi everyone!

Just wanted to pop in quickly and say thanks so much for all the helpfl replies. Sadly I'm in a mad rush as have to go away for a work thingn so can't reply to everyone individually.

Just wanted to et you all know too that checking bub hub and reading the replies seriously helped me feel better and cheer up. I fell to peices on the weekend as hubby was not able to share his sperm with me on our last attempt at going natural. But then I got on here the next day, and having done my crying I know feel like - lets get on with it! And I feel so much happier knowing you girls are here and understand even when hubby cant. (we actually had to be doing our own DIY AI at home but he couldnt due to a wrist injury and I couldnt help feeling angry - so your wrist hurts? Big deal? I will have to get injections daily and go to the clinic for blood tests before work DAILY and you cant give me sperm onONE occasion because your wrist hurts?!).

Thank you for all the positivity and support and here's some warm fuzzies to you all and I will reply properly when I get the chance

    xoxo

    Hi ladies-

i hope hope it's okay for me to join you- I have my appointment in a fortnights time to start injections as clomid has not worked and I have not ovulated since stopping the pill 18 months ago.

I don't know anyone who has been through this, and feel like everyone around me is either getting preggos or popping babies out!!!

    Thanks for listening-

    x

Twinkley - Good luck if you do decide to go ahead with IVF hun, will you continue with the naturapath potions alongside to give you an extra boost? No I am doing ovulation induction at the moment and since I have only had 1 cycle out of 4 that I have ovulated and been given the go ahead to BD we will continue along this route, as I am not ovulating then I don't even think IVF is an option.

Mrs Hopeful - Good luck with today's bloods and scan, hoping you get good news of follicle growth.

furbabymum - Good to hear you are feeling better about things, I find this thread seriously helps me as its nice to know there are girls out there who know exactly how I feel.

S234 - Welcome to the thread, I understand that feeling when you are told clomid hasn't worked as I was the same and also didn't ovulate on my own at all. I was so happy when I moved onto injections and was lucky to conceive DD 3 years ago so it does work . Good luck with your appointment and the start of your cycle. Its hard as us girls don't often get to speak to others who are going through the same thing in real life so its good we can chat on this thread.

AFM - Well results are in no ovulation for me as expected , my fs is away from his rooms today so cant get to speak to him. So I have rung my fn and I am waiting for her to return my call, we have decided to go back with them as they have more time to speak to us about everything and think they will be able to do the more scans and blood tests that I am going to be requesting. It is definitely time to take charge!!!
