Oh and KarmaJane I hear you about avoiding family. Every time we got invited to my sister in laws place for dinner I would try and make up an excuse not to go because I could not handle another pregnancy announcement. Turns out they surprised us with it while out one day so I ended up going and sitting in the car crying until it was time to go home.
That was a couple of years ago (and to their defense none of them knew what we were going through), we have actually just told them all this week what's happening so the next announcement should be a bit more sensitive (I hope).

Quiet on here for the past couple of days. Hope everyone is well.

Quick question: How involved is everyone's partners? My DH pretty much leaves all organisation to me which I'm finding kinda wearisome. I've decided that timing of our samples is up to him (which I have told him) but I'm worried he'll forget it and it'll set us back even further. But I'm just getting tired of being the one who has to remember and organise all the things to do with TTC. Anyone else have this problem?

pjk - I always start my OI cycle off with a blood test on CD1 just to check my levels are ok to start another cycle and then after that it is hit and miss they seem to throw them in every now and then just to check what is going on. Have to say though I think my veins must be feeling the strain as I seem to bruise so easily at the moment after a blood test. Think every clinic is different but wouldn't worry as the scan will show the full picture.

Mrs Hopeful - That's great that you only need to be on the pill for 2 weeks and can get going asap, may have to ask myself about doing a short cycle on the pill if I have to go down that path again, they always put me on a whole months pill cycle.

KaramaJane - Have to say my DH is very good and will listen to me stressing about every little bit of this ttc journey. We have been discussing recently though how when we were ttc DD he really didn't have any involvement at all with the day to day appointments at the clinic etc but this time he has felt so involved. This is probably due me not feeling 100% confident with everything that is going on and the stress over costings and appointments which we never had last time, hopefully things will change this cycle.

AFM - I had a very good phone call the other day with a FN from the clinic, she is not my usual nurse but she has actually told me she has taken over my care. Apparently my old nurse has too many patients at the moment but I think they are realising I am getting quite frustrated with a few things and have decided to give me a more experienced nurse. She has actually taken hole of everything for me too and is going to contact my FS on Monday to decide who is going to takeover my care this cycle either the clinic or Fs as it will be too messy if both are involved both from a care and cost perspective. She has also organised it with my fertility specialists office that my next visit will be free due to the mix up with costings last cycle - finally someone has taken charge lol!

Karmajane - my DH was a lot more involved while I was TTC my dd and usually knew where I was at during my cycle and would call or send texts to ask how the results of that days bloods or scan were. I found that he just assumed (as I guess I stupidly did too) that things would work straight away second time around as we knew what "apparently" worked for us so he didn't get involved at all apart from abstaining when he needed to and dropping off his sample when I told him he needed to. He didn't come to any appointments or scans but was there for each IUI. I actually found that the few friends and family who knew what we went through to get our dd and who we told that we were going through it all again a second time around we're all pretty blasé about it as they knew it had worked before and was just a matter of time before it would again....I don't think anyone (including my hubby to an extent) realised that it was almost just as bad the second time around as you find yourself reliving the very worst time of your life with new challenges thrown in.

Heyside- oh, your post bought the biggest smile to my face! Yaaaay!! Hang on to that FN as tight as you can, she sounds like a much needed angel in your life right now Your FC/FS care sounds slightly different to mine as my FS does all of my scans and decides my medication doses and all of my bloods are done by my FC who are also available for me to ask any questions to or liaise with my FS in-between my scans. I only pay my FC after my IUI's so I don't know how much of that my FS gets as I seemed to get quite a bit of monitoring between them both. All the best that this is the beginning of only good news from you xx

Rj- how are you going? Has the spotting stopped now?

Hope everyone else is going well xx

Pjk- I'm pretty sure the bloods can give a bit of an indication of the quality of the follicle/egg where's the scan is more about the quantity and size. I think the oestrogen is supposed to be at least 600 per mature follicle at ovulation stage as far as I've been told. Over 1000 is perfect.

Thanks everyone, I am really hoping this is a step forward for us, now just waiting to hear who is going to be caring for us overall this cycle and waiting to go in for my cd10 scan on Thursday and see what is going on.

Ladydee - Thanks hun, your clinic does sound like it is run very differently to mine. My fs has really referred us onto the fc for our care, so we should really only see them, they do the scans and just contact the fs when needed in regards to medication etc. So really I should only pay the clinic, but issues have arrived as my fs has wanted more involvement and wanted to scan me for himself to see what is going on. That is how we ended up having the issues with money and paid both the clinic and fs which my new fn wants to avoid this time. To be honest I just want all this to be over and don't mind who looks after me just want my bfp.

Afm - also read some devastating news on fb this week, an old friend of mine was expecting his daughter to be born around the 11th of Feb and last I heard his girlfriend was still overdue and waiting for baby to arrive. Unfortunately I saw news that she had a still birth over the weekend, can not imagine how they must be feeling so sad!

Aww Heyside, that is such sad news about your FB friend I can't and almost don't even want to imagine how terrible that would be. I honestly don't know how anyone could function after something like that? I guess you just have no choice?! Huge virtual hugs to them :'(

Goodluck to you this cycle. I'm guessing it's probably getting harder and harder for you to stay positive but I got my BFP on my 4th OI cycle and I didn't O in one of mine either (the first I think?) ....I know it didn't end well for me but that doesn't mean it was anything to do with my type of cycle, just one of those ****ty things in life. Your clinic & FS sound like they're both lifting their game and going to give you the extra time and careful monitoring that you deserve....they're almost fighting over you now! Lol. xx
