How about looking through the paper or online at some job ads that you might be interested in. The "required skills" or "required experience" that is listed in the ads would give you some ideas of how to describe your abilities.

My resume is probably a bit odd, in that I worked for 12 years for the same company and did a huge range of different type of work. MY resume easily runs to 7 pages if I try to list it all. So sometimes I add a section to the first page of my resume where I summarise and highlight my skills experience using brief bullet points. This is also useful because I can quickly customise it to reflect a particular job ad. Basically the information I would put here would be the stuff you might want to highlight in a cover letter, but sometimes cover letters don't get read.

The best tip i was given was to write your resume different for every job you apply for. Tailor it to suit that job perfectly - So if you go for admin, all your admin skills are right at the top. Most employers skim the first bits quickly - and if you catch their eye of being well suited - they are more inclined to continue reading...

my mother was an admin manager and she has read a lot of resumes because she always did the recruiting. She said that a resume needs to be easy to read and she hated reading the ones that had all the information cramped. Use space as much as possible without making it too long and remember-the interview is where you can elaborate on experience etc

Hi - my advice is to structure your resume with:

    your details first -

    Personal details:

All the standard stuff plus also a description of who you are and what you want.

then a Demonstrated skills section - this is where you put the stuff that you have done for all your jobs. These should be bullet points.
    ie.
    • Demonstrated ability to accurately manage travel bookings both interstate and internation.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advnanced knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Publisher.
    • ## words per minute typing speed
    • Professional outlook and presentation.
you get the idea but this can cover most of your skills.

And then where you have worked and only a little bit (dot points again) of info about what you did/acheived in those roles.

    So...

    Experience

xyz company - personal assistant to general manager.

    Duties/Achievements:
    • Provide administrative assistance to GM and team of 10 accountants.
    • Key member of team which implemented new client management software.
    • etc...
Setting a CV/resume out like this is a great way to keep info concise and avoid double ups when you have done lots of the same sort of work in different roles which is great for PA/Admin roles. I know I've worked in heaps and have hired many

    good luck!!

Here is an Idea for the start I think its called objective

You will find me to be a friendly, punctual, reliable and confident worker who is able to work well without direct supervision. I look forward to utilizing my skills to the mutual advantage of both employer and myself.

    And here is a way off wording your coverletter or maybe just something you can work with you can add and change things;

I am applying for the following position ‘*** as advertised.
I am a highly motivated diligent young woman and have exceptional communication skills within the workplace. My integrity and honesty is of the highest standards. I am very computer literate with extensive knowledge of most computer programs.
I am willing to adapt to any environment required of me and give
110 % effort. I believe I would be an asset to your firm if given the opportunity.

Attached is a copy of my current resume for your perusal.

    Kind Regards,
