    Default Unplanned 4th baby!

    Hi ladies,
A week ago I found out I am pregnant with our 4th bub. This has been an absolute shock to us and I am only now able to think about without crying and feeling sick to my stomach. We have three boys 7,4,2 who have all had reflux as babies. I suffered PND last time and took a while to recover. We are on a farm in western QLD and in the middle of a drought. Times are tough, and my husband has been getting treatment for depression because of it all. I don't know how we will cope, but I guess we will have to. I just wanted to hear our other Mums of four do it and cope.

I found the fourth bub easy. Because you already have 3 you are used to doing for more than one. You already have the skills you will need.

Do still have baby stuff from your last bub?
    If yes
The only things extra than what already will be a car seat and maybe a upgrade to car to fit 4 kids.

I am here if you need to chat.

Yes I still have most of the baby gear, and our car already has extra seats, the advantage of living in the bush and having a 4wd. Still trying to wrap my head around it all.

I understand that. My 5th and 6th bubs were surprise blessings. It takes time to sink.

    Congratulations.

I have 4 children only 2 live with me it took months to get around our 4th pregnancy financially it wasn't ideal and we didn't plan to have another one in fact I found out by doing a test before starting the pill we had to buy everything all over again. It wasn't until I was just over 20 weeks it started sinking in. His a silent reflux baby and it's definitely not easy our one before him was colic and the reason we decided not to have another but even though it was unplanned and it's so tough we love him and realise it was just meant to be. So good luck once it sinks in you may find yourself happy and excited. (I was diagnosed with pnd this time around)

Hello I was in your situation around this time last year. We found out we were expecting our fourth. We also had 3 boys aged 7, 4 and 22months at the time. My husband and I went through a big depression stage didn't think we would of been able to cope as our 3rd had shocking silent reflux and I was like a complete zombie for his first 3 months of life. Our little blessing and 4th son is now 6months old and has so far been our easiest baby and a complete joy to have in our lives and we could not imagine life without him. I really hope things work out just as beautiful for you and your family. I'm also praying for rain for you. Xxx

Mummyjac, I am also expecting my 4th and although it was planned I guess I really didn't think it would happen and strangely enough feel quite shocked and a little silly. I really didn't think it through. I'm hoping to feel more excited soon. My youngest is just 8months. Money is tight and I won't be finished my studies for 3yrs. But hopefully then things will be easier for us. Hopefully rain will come for you and things will look up.

I'm having my 6th and it was a complete and utter shock for months. I am very happy to be having him now though It is very early days, what you are feeling right now is completely normal, try not to be hard on yourself. It will settle and become something lovely to focus on :>)

Thanks ladies! I guess I just need to give it some time. I never thought I would be a mother of four. And of course I am dreading all of the, 'are you hoping for a girl?' comments.

    Hugs xxx

I found out I was pregnant with our 4th when our youngest was only 5 months old it's taken me ages not to be upset and stressed out at the situation. My older kids are 11 & 8 so are more independent. I'm only now at just over 30 weeks starting to get excited about having a new bub.
