Default How to make cats be friends again?

My female cat was trapped and taken to the pound today. We have since brought her home and our male cat wont stop hissing and swiping at her. Obviously she smells like the pound.

They normally get locked in the garage at night but they were both so distressed with each other I have had to seperate them.

How long will it take them to be friends again? Should I just keep them seperate until the pound smell has worn off?

Give them a few nights apart to let things settle down. Make sure you give them both individual attention too.
Our male cat is cranky with us atm....he's jealous as we have a new kitten (our 4th indoor only cat) so kitten is in the laundry and jealous boy is in bed with my dd. They're funny animals!
