Dear HopeAgain, How wonderful!! Next week is just tomorrow!! You must be very excited... Tips... let's see... ^^ I had my transfer two days and a half after our arrival so I had time to rest and get over the Jetlag. I did acupuncture at the clinic but I remember I did book it before the visit, not there. If you want one my tip is to write right away to the clinic. Then, you definitely have to have a nice walk on the beach and then a drink on one of the terraces. Soo relaxing. How long are you staying there? Places to eat: if you want to try a paella, my best advice is to have one "outside" the front beach where all the touristic restaurants are. The restaurant "Arruzz" has the best one we ever tasted so far And last but not least, if you have time: Elche (20km away from Alicante) is a great town too with uncountable palmtrees. Palmtrees everywhere. Let us know how did go your transfer. My fingers are crossed for you :*

    Dear Rachby,

Thanking you for the tips! We will sure to try them all out.
Did you have acupuncture before as well after transfer?
How was the thickness of your lining?
Last month I did the Mock cycle, the lining was 0.8cm. Today I did an ultrasound (day 11), the thickness is only 0.67cm!
I hope it will get thicker in 10days (transfer time). We are flying out this Thurs and stay there for 10days.
I'm excited and scared at the same time...

Dear HopeAgain, I only did acupuncture before the transfer. Just after the transfer, the nurse gave me a foot massage just to help me to relax. I'm telling you: they are great! My lining was 0.89 the day of the transfer. Keep taking your meds and everything will be fine! Your transfer will be on 25th right? Just to be sure I don't forget to check on you the next day

    Hi RachBy,

Thank you for the confidence! They told me the egg pick up will be around 21-23/11. So I guess the transfer will be a bit later than 25th. Is there any good eat out places around the apartment by walking distance? Anything you remember?
I will keep you updated...thank you for being there for me.

    Hello RachBy and HopeAgain,

RachBy, thank you so much for the invaluable insight into egg donation in Spain, I am looking at IVF-Spain Alicante for ED too so I was so pleased to come across your great info. I am hoping to be over there by February 2016. And congratulations! I hope you are enjoying an easy pregnancy (as easy as it gets anyway).

HopeAgain, it seems that you are in the midst of it all now. Wishing you very good luck! I hope it is all going really well, and you are having a lovely time in Spain too. I hope when you are back you will be able to let me know what your experience with IVF-Spain was like - would you recommend them as well? Did you find a good doctor to support you here in Melbourne? I have a fertility specialist from my six ivf attempts, but I would be happy not to use him if I could find another as he does not have a good bedside manner, and has been absent from every step of the process apart from the initial meeting and setting of the protocol!

    Hey Nettsy!!

I was on the train back from visiting a very charming little village and I had goosebumps whilst reading your message! It's our 4th day here in Alicante. It is an incredibly beautifully little town! I have totally fallen in love with everything here. The food, the people, the air, the sea....You will love here too I believe.

Okay, I'm more than happy to share anything about the clinic and visiting Spain with you. RachBy has been so helpful to provide all the invaluable information. Since I live in Melbourne too, I'm happy to meet with you to walk you through if you prefer. There is so much to prepare before you coming here. I've been there and know how much emotionally and medically you need to get yourself 'ready' before the trip. It's so important to have a supportive Dr. in Melb to support you. Not many IVF doctors in Australia would. My dr is super cool, he has been around. He does Greek programme, but when I told him I wanted to go Spain, he said he would support me no matter where I choose to go. I also had 6 cycles before coming here. Which clinic you are currently with? Monash or Melbourne? Who is your Dr. ?

Today is Day 3 of our embryo's development stage, tomorrow is a crucial day for the embryos. We won't know how many Blastocysts we have till Day 5 (thurs). I'm feeling a little nervous. I guess we just have to wait and see.

Have you contacted IVF Spain yet?

    Hola HopeAgain,

I am so pleased to hear you are having a wonderful time, hopefully it is not too cold there now. I wish you all the very best –I hope you have many strong blastocysts soon.

I would love to meet when you have some time and are back in Melbourne, thanks so much for the offer. I do have many questions. It is so good to have hope again (as your name suggest you know) thanks to DE, but it is a bit overwhelming.

I have contacted IVF-Spain, in fact I am almost stalking them now as emailed on Friday night, Tuesday, and today I completed the online form for an initial visit! I haven’t heard from them yet and am probably being a little over eager, but I would just love to get some more information from them. I will be patient. As for my current specialist, I won’t say his name here as I criticised him while feeling emotional. He actually offers innovative protocols and is always available by phone if I call, I just haven’t felt like the service has been personalised at all, and the process at Monash means that you deal with a specific nurse throughout a cycle, not the Dr.

With the time difference I think you will be enjoying another lovely Spanish day. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I had better go and work on my Spanish. Hasta luego

@RachBy - such great info! I was set on embryoland in Greece but after reading about your experience I am now considering IVF Spain. Am curious, did you have a little boy or girl!?
@HopeAgain - you must be having your blood test soon, hope you get some positive news
@Nettsy - curious to see how you go and what you decide as I am in the same phase. I myself actually changed specialists last year for a second opinion and also for reputation - I first saw someone at city fertility and now see someone at Monash.

Hi Kuwtk, sorry for the delayed response.
IVF-Spain’s communication has been really good and they spent over 2 hours with us on a skype session recently. I am going to stick with my specialist back here for support before we head anywhere - he has answered my questions and is happy to work with IVF-Spain if that is what we choose. Many decisions to make yet, including whether to use PGS.
    HopeAgain,
I have been thinking about you, I hope you had a lovely time in Alicante and that you receive a brilliant result soon.
