about the closest my kids get to playing in the car is jumping in between the seats while cleaning the car out they like to get things out and put them in the rubbish bags for me. Our driveway is flat so I don't think the car would roll anywhere if they were to release the handbrake anyway. I don't leave them unsupervised if I have to duck inside then Dh is watching them.

I've never even considered it? Cars aren't for playing?
If I'm cleaning my car, DS1 and DS2 are usually playing outside, they don't need to be in my car when I'm cleaning it.

In saying that we have an old bush basher that ds sometimes plays in with the dogs. He takes them for "drives". I can't even start it or put the hand break down so ds certainly
But its an old Subaru ute thing and it's got no roof or windscreen lol.

Nope. I remember in school one of my friends was playing in the car, put it in drive and pinned her mum between the car and garage wall! She was in hospital with multiple broken bones and struggled to walk for ages

My 3.5yr old sits in the front with me while we wait at the school to pick up DS1, but we usually read books or see what pictures we can make out of the clouds
