Three weeks for just the confirmation letter?? Wow. Mine took just a few business days. I'm being paid PPL direct from C/L though as I'm self employed.

Random question- do you need to have named bub before lodging proof of birth? Dd was born yesterday, is nameless (and possibly will be for the next little while), but I would like to start the process to get ppl coming in ASAP..?

I don't think so? As proof of birth you can either provide the birth certificate or proof of birth forms from the hospital...The prof of birth forms from the hospital don't have bubs name on it from memory...

I'm pretty sure proof of birth from the hospital has the name on it, and the PPL paperwork I was sent from CL had DD's name all through it, so I think you do need to have named bub.

I just checked the proof of birth form the hospital gave me (I took a photo before handing it in to centrelink). It has my name on it but not bubs. Child of jane doe etc.

Like you VicPark, I pre registered well before baby was born and physically took in birth papers etc to my centre link when DD was 1 week old. I got my first payment when DD was 6 weeks old, so 5 weeks processing time. That was around 2 years ago.

Hope you get it soon! It's so hard trying to prepare financially with all the uncertainty around payment timings etc.

I did my application 2 months prior to my due date. I put it down to start from my due date and bub was born 1 day over. I put in the proof of birth one week later via the app and it was processed within a few days and I got paid in my employers next payroll. So about 3-4 weeks tops

    Hi ladies
I'm in WA and submitted my claim form last Tuesday online and yesterday I received my approval letter... So they processed that part pretty quick but I will be getting paid straight from centerlink, so maybe that is why it was processed so quick? No mucking around with employer??
Bubs is due early April (pretty much any time from next week) so I hope the second part of the process runs just as smoothly... Eeeek
I will post after I get my payments to let u know how long it took? I'm very interested to see if its any quicker going straight through centerlink and not employer.....

Anyone else getting paid from centerlink I'd love to know if it still took 6 or so weeks after proving birth???

    Good luck everyone
