I did the fridge and freezer as one! Winning. I'm a day ahead. What's tomorrow's because I'm at work tomorrow and could use the head start. :-)

ok - easy one today ....

    5th June – Microwave

Take the tray out of the microwave and give the whole thing a great clean.
The quickest way to clean a microwave oven is to place a handful of wet paper towels inside and run it on High for 3-5 minutes. Steam from the towels will soften the grime. Once the paper towels cool down, use them to wipe the oven's interior.

Some of us though have a natural talent for exploding things in the microwave (usually involving something messy and sticky). To easily get rid of this type of spatter or grease, add 1/4 cup vinegar to 1 cup water in a glass measuring cup. Boil the mixture for three minutes in the microwave. But don't open the door just yet -- let it stand in the microwave for about ten more minutes. Soon, everything should be loosened up nicely.

Lemons also may be used as a variation. Heat a bowl of water with lemon slices in your microwave for 30 to 60 seconds, then wipe out the oven. Stains will be easier to remove and old food odors will be neutralized.

Remember to use microwave-safe containers when nuking your food. Many plastics and even paper towels break down when microwaved, releasing toxins that leach into food.

    Boil and Bubble
Boiling vinegar (or lemon juice) in the microwave is a good way to rid (and your home) of that persistent burned-popcorn smell.

Yay, my microwave is already clean
I didn't have time to do the freezer yesterday though so will get onto that today.

Also just did a quick clean out of ds1s draws as he got dressed himself this morning and put a size 3 tshirt on when he is in size 5s, haha whoops. Forgot to take a before photo but here is after: ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1401839246.060968.jpgImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1401839266.894113.jpg

And the pile of clothes to sort out into a donate pile and what to pack away for when ds2 grows into them(a lot of these clothes were also just thrown to the bottom of ds1s wardrobe when he grew out of them): ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1401839456.718358.jpg

Our microwave died a few weeks ago and since then we've been trying to live microwave-free. And it gives me extra space on the worktop. I guess that's quite extreme microwave decluttering! (No need to follow my example).

I cleared out some of the freezer blocks last night to make more room in our freezer, but otherwise the freezer is OK, so instead I tackled the pile of kids school reports, photos, certificates, momentoes that I've been ignoring for over 13 years now! Eek. It's now sorted into three piles per kid and I've started putting it into sectioned storage boxes - one for each child.

oh ...yep that is a bit of an "extreme de-clutter" for the microwave

good work on the photos though ... that is one I am not looking forward too.

Though I am lucky- DH went through about 2 years ago and scanned our home office. We are now paperless !! it works really well (mainly because I dont have to do it )

A whole of 2 minutes. Dp is incredibly anal when it comes to the stove top and microwave being clean!
