    Default Question for a Hairdresser!

I was thinking of a career change, I'm 27, and am thinking of doing an apprenticeship in Hairdressing? I'm just worried it will be difficult finding an apprenticeship due to me age and having to be paid as a mature aged apprentice? As I don't have any relevant experience in the beauty field and have been in admin since I finished high school I have no idea how I would go about making a resume for apprentice hairdressing? Also are the hairdressing apprenticeships 3 or 4 years? Thanks

I signed up to for my apprenticeship at 32 years of age. For some employers a mature age apprentice is better for many reasons. As a mature age apprentice you will be eligible for a supplemental payment from the government. The reduced wages can be tough sometimes but if it's what you want to do then you will make it work. It will be a matter of applying for jobs advertised or even speaking with your local apprenticeship centre.
In your resume your customer service skills will be a good highlight. I had no experience with the hair industry only childcare when I was fortunate enough to get a position.
Best of luck with your decision
