    HAHAHAHA when people say 'vowels' instead of 'vows'

    DH commented on x-factor that the guy singing his wedding song sounded like he was saying vows. So I asked vows or vowels? He got all confused and then couldn't decide which one was correct!

    Noooooo! I see this kind of thing all the time as an English teacher - where it's obvious the student has only ever heard a phrase/word rather than seeing it written down.

    How can you go your whole life not seeing the proper phrase on paper/screen? Or do they just not make the connection?

    Can't help but agree. Bring back the curtsy!!!!!

    I just thought "oh no she d'int!" because it's spelled 'curtsey' but just checked and apparently 'curtsy' is an acceptable spelling also.
