Anyways- Is this correct? So many people I know say this that I am beginning to second guess myself.
It annoys me big time to hear that word being used, slang or not. Thanks for the info. , now I know why so many people use that word.

What about 'I could/can care less'
Isn't the term 'I couldn't care less'?
Every time I read it I'm going, COULDN'T in my head.

I'm sure these words (affect and effect) must have been mentioned already in the thread. These two words must be the most common incorrectly used words. My daughter's teacher made this error in a letter addressed to the parents. Surely she would've proof-read the letter before sending it out. I think it's a case of her not knowing the difference between the two.
Walked into my local library, where my Mother works, to see a sign boldly stating:
What's your favorite book?
With about 3 paragraphs below it. Now, if that weren't bad enough, it stated favorite again, and then further below it said favourite twice. So even the author of the sign clearly had no idea one way or another. I told my Mum it looks really bad in a library, and she agreed but didn't want to step on the authors toes. Sheesh, I hate the fact that we are so happy to take on the Americanized (I wanted to spell that with an 's', google spell checker said no) form of words.
Love the graph.
