@Molros I watched one born every minute and started panicking! I can't comment as not had a baby yet but surely it returns to near normal?!?!

Had my scan this morning all looking good - am SO relieved!! Our clinic does the panorama test (similar to verifi) and after our last experience we are getting it done at 9 weeks - although takes 2 weeks for the results - now just to choose an OB!

@Rarah11 oh I haven't seen that. I was hesitant to post in case ppl think I'm being stupid/shallow but it is something that concerns me I think.
Glad your scan went well....when is your next one? Our NT scan is 13 May!

@Molros - my advice would be to of course "be aware" of what COULD happen, but trust in yourself and your own body. Don't listen to the stories and focus on your exercises, visualising your own body and it being healed after.

Of course it WILL be different, that's not to say it will be bad.

I have always had the same/similar fear when it comes to giving birth - i used to suffer from a condition known as vaginismus - ie a fear of pain and therefor NO intercourse was possible. I have always had a fear that I would relapse back to this.

I am slowly and encouragingly changing my own mindset to this. And I have to say, I am feeling GREAT about that. I also intend on preparing myself mentally by reading and practicing hypnobirthing - I may not get through the whole birth using this, but I hope that it will atleast help me a great deal.

    Hi Ladies!!

Olismumma- sorry to hear of your loss hun, glad your strong bub is still doing well.

Congrats on the twins Megs!! And good to here you're two are both still going strong bayside

Molros- It's not shallow at all, lots of women fear childbirth for similar reasons, but certainly preparing yourself by reading (and not listening to too many horror stories!! ppl only ever tell you the bad ones) and watching videos will help and certianly doing you're pelvic floor excercises!
Bow ties that sounds like a great idea to help prepare yourself and feel more calm through the whole experience and afterwards.

Wish- good luck with you're scan today hun you're PAPP-A and B-hcg levels sound very good but I know it's a scary time for you Then you can look forward to doing you're nursery!!

Speaking of nursery's I'm feeling slack! We haven't even cleared out the junk room that will become the nursery yet!! My DH has said he wants to wait til I'm showing more to go furniture shopping at least we have more weekends free soon, I've been working shifts but transitioning to a nicer 8-5 job in two weeks with the occasional shift.

Also got my verifi results back yesterday (additional test to check for Trisomy 21,13,18- checks free fetal DNA in the mothers blood) all good- healthy bubba in there and they know the sex but I'm going to wait until our scan so we can find out together. So it only took 8 days and that was over Easter!!

with the UI/L levels why is weight a factor, do you know? Good luck for your scan today!
Its in regards to the ratio of HCG to body weight obviously someone lighter will have a lower saturation of HCG in their blood compared to someone of a higher body mass. Makes the test result more accurate.

The weight correction makes it more accurate no matter what the weight. Someone who weighs 50kg will need a lower hcg to be in the low risk range than someone with a higher weight. Kinda like BMI if you're tall and weigh 65kg you're going to look thinner than some one who is short at the same weight. Hope that makes sense? I cant find the document I was reading that explained it.

    Congrats Megs!! Twins
I will get my Doppler on Friday!! Im not holding out too much hope on hearing it straight away as I will only be 10+4 and I have a retroverted uterus which will make things harder until it flips, one thing I have noticed is my cervix has completely shifted! The only way I know this is because of the pesseries, at the start the pesseries were making me spot so I had to be careful with placement but now its nowhere in sight! I started my weaning regime on Monday I was on 1 Prog 1 aspirin and 2 progynova in the morn 1 prog and 2 progynova at lunch and 1 Prog, 1 combo est/prog and 2 progynova at night, I have now cut all the lunch time meds and will cut more next week!!
