Default new to perth, help with hospital & ob

    Evening ladies
Just had confirmation that my FET has been successful! absolutely overjoyed. Now my job now is to sort an ob/hospital. im not living in Perth yet but will be there in 3 months time( husband has been relocated for work). I do know we will be living SOR, and we will be going private. From what i have come across so far, SJOG is a private hospital. Is KEMH private aswell as public? Once i know what hospital i can look at their obs list and prob come back here and ask for a reccommedation or two. Ive been told to book an ob asap even though i wont actually be in perth for a few months....apparently they book up quick.
Love some help as i have no idea where to start.

Kemh is public only (although you could go private it's a public hospital) and high risk only.

SJOG Murdoch is probably the biggest private hospital sor but I don't have any recommendations as I go public

Perhaps google them. Good luck and congrats on your pregnancy.

Hi Tinkers I live SOR in Perth so the 2 private hospitals are SJOG Murdoch which I have heard good things about and is quite a big hospital. I went private for my son but I went to Attadale Private Hospital which is a small hospital and my OB was Dr Chris Gunnell. I really liked the hospital staff and loved my OB. I am currently TTC and will go back to the same hospital and OB. if you have any other questions feel free to ask

    Hi there

I had both my bubs at Attadale Private Hospital with Dr Michael Brenters as my Ob. He was wonderful and I loved the hospital (it's smaller and more personal).

Recently found out we're expecting number 3 and I've already booked in with Dr Brenters. He now also delivers at St John of God Murdoch (private) hospital so I have the choice of there or Attadale but I'm leaning towards Attadale just because I was so comfortable there previously.

SJOG Murdoch is fab! I had my DS there. I've used Dr Anna Holmes and she's fantastic but you will definitely need to book early to get in =) congratulations!

I had David Mincham at SJOG Murdoch and he was great. Would go to him again if I had another but I think I'm done. Book now whoever you chose, I was 5 weeks and only just managed to get him

My OB Chris Gunnell was very VBAC friendly. My sister used this OB too and had a c-section for her first baby and they worked together to try and get her a VBAC it didn't work out but she was really happy to have the c-section because she knew she had exhausted all of her options.

I would recommend booking your OB as soon as possible as they get really booked up quickly. My son was born 2 years ago and my appointment were about $70 and the birth management fee was $2000 and you get some money back from Medicare. There are so many great OB round Perth I have had plenty of friends deliver at SJOG Murdoch and they were all really happy. As someone else said I loved the small hospital at Attadale, the food was yummy and my hubby could stay with me. Good luck choosing your Dr and hospital and congrats

Any questions re public and I can help, I contract to the Dept of Health with my job. With KEMH, it is quite hard to get into because it is a specialist women and newborn health hospital, and the only one that deals with high risk pregnancies. Depending on where you live, impacts on the catchment area and whether they'll send you there or not.

http://www.kemh.health.wa.gov.au/hav...n_WA/index.htm this website is one of the most comprehensive I've found.
