Default *tmi* blood when doing a poo

I'm 18 weeks pregnant and have just been to the toilet and done a number 2.
When I wiped after I had finished there was a lot of blood on the toilet paper..
I'm pretty sure it was from my bottom and not the front, and now I'm so paranoid..
What If it's not from the back..
I'm just about to go off to the toilet again to see if it's still bleeding..
But I'm so freaked out! Is this normal?

If your concerned about "anything" please ring your gp/obs/midwife.. Im sure they have seen.... heard... many things..
Have you gone again ? any blood?? was it hard to push out, could it be a blood vessel bursting??
Sorry not sure if this was helpful

Sounds like you might have haemorrhoids. Pretty common in pregnancy. About 1 in 3 people get them I think. More likely to happen if you take iron tablets as well. Best to see your doctor of course to double check. HTH

Get it checked out just to be safe but I had internal haemorrhoids when I was pregnant and it sounds really similar to what you described.

I've just checked, well I went for wee and there was definitely no bleeding from the front..
I wiped the back again and there was a little blood there..
I did strain a bit when I did a poo, but it was a fair bit of blood..
Do I have to see a doctor or just see if it happens again? I don't take iron tablets but I am taking elevit!

Sounds like it is probably haemorrhoids especially if you strained a bit when going. Doesn't hurt to get it checked out.

Haemorrhoids or anal fissure would be my guess I had both last pregnancy - it's embarrassing to talk to doctor but do it anyway - these things are obvious with a quick look from your doctor. So common in pregnancy but if fissure try and nip in bud by softening stools as I had chronic one and the pain was unreal!!!

Yes I agree. See your doc and get onto it now incase it is a hemorrhoid. They're really really REALLY painful when their full blown! Lots of water and soft stools are the key. And remember to keep it up after the birth! Good luck.
