Default What to wear to a funeral?

I'm going to a funeral tomorrow, I didn't actually know the man that passed away but have known his wife and son for 20+ years. Is it still the etiquette to wear black? I have worked for a company that provides uniform for the last 4 years so the only corporate wardrobe I have to fall back on is pre-wedding and pre-baby when I was 10kg lighter. I have found this outfit and can squeeze into the skirt, is it ok? Too black? The only other appropriate top I have is a very bright coral colour which might be too 'look at me' for a funeral. I know it isn't a fashion parade but I just want to dress respectfully...

I think it looks very appropriate. Coming from someone who has a very big family which unfortunately does mean a fair few funerals. I know that it's not a fashion parade but at the same time someone will pick on someone else for an inappropriate outfit, so I know what you mean. Too me it looks fine.

Looks right to me. Funerals can be tricky but I think black is safe and respectful.

Looks fine for a funeral. Last funeral i went to(i wore my work uniform as i was his carer) family and friends wore either black or a range of different colours.

I personally don't think black is a requirement these days... just something conservative. It looks like that fits the bill.

I think any dark colour is fine but saying that I have been to funerals where people wore floral dresses or nice coloured tops. I think these days as long as your covered up a bit you can wear anything
