    Default Is this a hernia?

Ds3 has a umbral hernia that will require surgery at some point. Today it was sitting funny so I wanted to take a pic. I took this pic as he laid down. When his core muscles were being flexed. The lump only show up as he lays down. It not there when is laying flat or when he is getting up.

I have not seen a lump there before.

Both my boys have that lump but all the way down to their belly buttons. With them it was just a widening of the connection between the 2 sides of their six pack and not an actual hernia.

I would mention it to the dr because if he already has 1 hernia it may make him more likely to have another.

My DS is 7 and still had that. I've never seen a doctor about it but it seems to just be like stomach muscle separation.
