    Default Sleep School - Brisbane

Just wondering if there is a sleep school in Brisbane that does a 'no controlled crying / cry it out' approach and if any are suitable for a 2.5yo...

    Many thanks...

If you have PHI check out this nuture Centre at Northwest private hospital. I'm not sure of the age thing but they are pretty new and I had spoken at length with them about my DD. Their techniques are called responsive settling.

Nurture centre is only up to 18 months.

Ellen Barron do responsive settling which I did with DD and IMO was CIO. They discouraged going in as it works baby up more and you need to let them wind down even more then letting them CIO.

is your lo in a cot or bed?

What about a private sleep consultant? I had one come to my house. She was great.

    Thank you both...

She is in a bed... I heard the same thing about Ellen Barron as a friend went with her 11mo recently, and it just doesn't sit well with me; in saying that maybe DD1 needs that?

I will look into private sleep consultant too...

I had Elaine Harvey come when my dd was about 5 months. She is lovely. . and listens to your issues. She was helpful and catered to the specific needs of my dd who has a rare syndrome.
This is her website. Just thought I'd share. .I have never had her back or anything but the techniques she showed me were helpful.
I'm pretty sure she does toddlers.

We went to Ellen Barron and it was truly wonderful. A gentle, supportive environment. I am really anti-CIO and, while they encouraged me to listen to my baby's cries and figure out if she really needed me or was trying to soothe herself, they would not push anything on me. I had great nurses working one on one with me and they were wonderful and very empathetic.
Worked beautifully....some regression every now and then, but mostly a great outcome. My girl still comes into bed and co-sleeps and feeds when sick or having the occasional bad night ( and always comes in around 5.30 am for cuddles/morning feed/ sometimes back to sleep for a but ), so I don't feel it has pushed her too far into a strict 'routine'. Bit of a waiting list, and I *think * they accept up till 3 years old.
