Loved it too, the fashions were great.

Gee they were so cruel though, imagine not even telling a woman she had a boy or a girl and not letting her hold the baby, so ********.

Where are all the fathers in all this? Did they not know or not have a choice like the mothers?

I went to high school in the 90s and I remember a girl being sent away - the whole town knew, so I don't know why they did that.

Considering some of the mothers didn't know I highly doubt the dads knew

I think the girls didn't sign anything themselves, but they weren't required to as they were still minors and therefore it was up to their parents (who DID grant permission for the adoption). I think it most mostly up to the men though, especially considering at that point in time they were still very much heads of the household. The girl we saw get sent there... her mother didn't seem happy with it, but she knew she didn't get a say by the looks of it.

As for the fathers, I assume they would be like most teenage boys... not that concerned. They got some sex, that's their part done.

    I think it's fairly

No, damn it, I wanted to watch it!!

DP was adopted at birth in Sydney in '74, all he knows is that his birth mum was 15 and his 'father' was German. Last night he saw the ad for the show and he said "I wonder if I'm a love child?" Lol. Who knows. He's not really interested in finding her at this stage.

It can be hard not knowing and for some it doesn't bother at all.

I was born in a country hospital in NSW and have no idea the circumstances surrounding my birth. I am fearful that my mother was forced by someone to give me up, but I don't know. I don't think it helps that the information I have been given about my birth is not quite accurate as in the name of the hospital etc etc.

It is difficult trying to figure out the right thing to do and whether or not finding out the circumstances surrounding my birth and adoption will be a good thing for me.
