    Default I'm single.... What now???

I asked my partner to leave a few weeks ago as our relationship has been falling apart for the last year. There has been no communication and no feelings of love. I asked him if he wanted to come back and try again and he is not interested. We have 2 little girls aged 3 and 18months an I'm not really sure what to do 😢

Hugs. No advice as never been in the situation but there are plenty of mums on here who have been.

What do you mean you're not really sure what to do ?

Have you applied for c/link payments yet ? What about child support ? Are things amicable our do you require mediation to sort out visitation for your children ?

Yep I have no idea about what to do or where to go from here. I can't afford rent on my own don't have friends to help me move, moving would require new childcare and a little flat somewhere with no backyard. It sucks! My ex has always been a fantastic father and fingers crossed he stays that way. He currently lives with his friend and comes to my house to see the kids as his friends house is not kid friendly. I work part time and don't know if I would be entitled to centreline payments... Life just sucks at the moment I lost all my friends when I fell pregnant the first time as I was no longer the party girl that they were. The only thing I have going for me are my 2 gorgeous girls!

You will most likely still be eligible for parenting payment & ftb. Call centrelink in the morning. The sooner you register the sooner the payments come in. I believe you also need to register with child support so give them a call too.

Ok - firstly register you separation with centrelink. You can earn up to about $1900 a fortnight before completely losing SPP. You probably get some if that plus FTB A&B.

You'd also be likely to receive rent assistance. Your first port of call is centrelink.

I didn't have friends help me move either. I advertised on my local FB buy & sell and paid 3 blokes $20/hr to move me. I also scored a heaps of boxes from there. It worked out much much cheaper.

I live in an apartment three levels up with no backyard... I promise it doesn't suck I take my kids swimming in the complex pool or at the beach and to the park.

You just need to be a little proactive in making new friends. Jump on a FB page with mums from your local area. Start meeting up socially with colleagues from work.

I know right now life seems horrible - but it can get better.

AvasMumma re: Centrelink payments, I work full time & I still receive PPS & FTB. You'll definitely be eligible! I get around $300 per fortnight on top of my wage and that is for one child. Definitely start by calling them to lodge your intent to claim.

Also contact CSA to have an assessment done. You and exDP can decide whether to go privately or have them collect, currently I have a private arrangement with exDP. Could he continue to pay part of the rent while you find somewhere cheaper? Good luck x
