    Default TTC after laparoscopy?

I had a laparoscopy last Monday for an ectopic pregnancy. DP and I are wanting to start TTC as soon as possible, but I've forgotten what the hospital advised. I seem to remember something about 3 months? Does anyone know?

I have an appt next week with the hospital so I'll ask then but just curious!

I had one in December. My OB told me wait one cycle.
However I didn't need to have a tube removed or anything.

The plan was to wait one cycle but DH and I had a quickie one night and I fell pregnant first O after lap.
I'm now 8 weeks and bub is healthy.

Hey lexim, I was in your Oct FB group but left for obvious reasons! I ended up having my left tube removed & we are so desperate to TTC. Thanks for sharing your experience

I had a laparoscopy for removal of endometriosis prior to doing another round of IVF and I fell pregnant 3 weeks after my lap.

I saw my FS for a check 3 weeks after my surgery and was about the ovulate naturally (first time ever!) and my FS told me to go for it and fell pregnant with my DD who is now 2.

But my lap was purely investigative and for the removal of endometriosis.

Ali19, sorry for your loss also, it is awful isn't it. How far along were you?

Thank you ladies! Physically I have recovered quite well, emotionally I am still healing but doing okay, I just want this nightmare to be over & replace it with happy memories!

    It's hard isn't it

Honestly, I'd wait one cycle. Let your body heal and "flush" itself out.
Although I am thrilled that I fell pregnant so quickly after my lap (I felt like it was meant to be), I know that if anything goes wrong I'll be blaming myself for not waiting.

Hi porky pies, sorry to hear you had an ectopic

I had a lap 10 days ago for suspected ectopic and to remove a large cyst. I am still in pain/pretty uncomfortable and the last thing I want right now is sex. I had an internal ultrasound done 6 days after surgery and it was very uncomfortable/painful to have it done.

I'd wait and make sure your pain has disappeared at least before you consider trying again. Although externally your body looks ok, there if often swelling and bruising inside that takes longer to heal.

Speak to your doctor about what they recommend, but I do agree with pp to wait at least one cycle for things to return to normal before attempting again. as hard as it is to wait, it could be a lot better for your body if you do.

    Good luck.

Thanks, I was 5 weeks along. But started miscarrying 4days before the op.
Your right, physically I'm ok but emotionally, it might take a bit longer.
