    Default Mater mothers preemies

Has anyone had their preemie babies here? I'm 24 weeks and have a high chance of delivering soon.
What was your babies outcome like?

I didn't have a preemie but my dd was born with a serious heart condition requiring NICU at mater mothers. I just wanted to say the drs and nurses there are absolutely amazing and do work miracles.

What I've heard from a very close gf they were fantastic.

My last bub was a 25weeker. It was a long hard road with lots of bumps along the way but we have had a fantastic outcome compared to others.

Stay away from google and talk lots to your ob, ask for a tour of the NICU so its not as much as a shock if you do wind up in there and ask to talk to the paed team of the NICU. This helped me in the week leading up to the birth. I then knew what to expect the first time I saw bub etc.

    Feel free to pm me.

A friend of mine had her DD there. Delivered at 28 weeks. She said everyone there was fantastic and did a great job and were so friendly and understanding.

Make sure you ask your doctors for a consult with neonatologists if you haven't already (though I'm sure they're all over that). And make sure you have a tour of the NICU. They will show you babies of a similar weight/gestation. They will be honest and realistic which can sometimes be hard to hear, but just remember every day your belly bub stays inside saves 2 days in the NICU.
