    Default Regression/just not getting it...

So 8 days ago I started stage 2 potty training from the Gina Ford book 'Potty Training in One Week' with my 31 month old boy. By day 2 we had zero accidents.....however he has only once instigated going to the potty himself (day 4) - his first poo in the potty. In the book it says that he should be instigating it himself more & more and by the end if the week I should lay off encouraging him to go and leave it up to him or he may start to rebel - but to expect a few accidents.
We had a couple if accidents so I started promoting him again - then sure enough he started to rebel against it. So I have stopped prompting. He has pretty much totally regressed!!! Constant accidents....wees & poos. Has not taken the initiative to go himself.
I am determined not to go back to nappies.
Someone please tell me this has happened to them and all of a sudden it will click with him!!!?

I dont think there is anything wrong with gentle reminders, I even do so now sometimes with dd and shes been tt for almost a year. They get busy and forgetful.

My opinion - throw the book away. Putting a week time limit on it is unrealistic and too much pressure on both u and your little man. Id give it a rest for a few weeks then start fresh.

Again just my opinion. Good luck.
