I'm actually having another quick scan today JJ. Long story but they couldn't get can't 3rd images last week and DH was cranky. We ended up having a massive, massive fight abut his attitude lately (I know some if it is just me being tired and cranky)! Anyway, I rung up to see if they could do anything and got a lovely lady who is going to fit me in today. Surely I can then last 5 Weeks??????

Abh-everyone at my work does that too!!!! When I was about 14 weeks (before anyone knew I was utd) a few colleagues had gastro. I got so mad that one day I sent someone home and I don't even have the authority to do so. She got in trouble and I felt terrible and ended up defending her and telling them they were bullies. We even have a policy that you can't come to work for 48 hours post your last symptoms.

Arlais-Sorry you're not feeling yourself in your body. I must say I'm absolutely loving this whole experience and for the first time in my life, I have been able to let go of my body image issues having suffered eating eating disorders throughout my teens and early twenties.

Jj and October-it's so reassuring having regular scans just to hear a heartbeat and see bubba wriggling around. I get one at each Ob visit and is great piece of mind.

Arlais - just hang in there love - you almost there !! I like what your OB said. It's true it's better to have your pain under control so that you can concentrate on the important task of actually pushing the baby out, minimises us flaking out and being distress ESP if its a long labour.

Berra you do have some major concerns there, definitely talk to your OB as you definitely need that specialist advice. Unfort as we progress its only going to get more uncomfortable and painful!

Afm so I was sitting at the dinner table and felt my tummy go very tight and a bit painful (as iam use to all other pulls and kicks and bubs turning which of course isn't painful ) and had me cringing and breathing funny momentarily. It passed away then less then five mins later again and then nothing since. Made me wonder is this Braxton hicks ? I had three faces staring at me in awe!

Yep Ann, sounds like classic BH to me! And ladies, if you haven't experienced any yet, it's complete BS that they're not painful. It's not a really bad pain, more uncomfortable than anything, but if they go on for ages your belly (and back for me) do get very sore.

Luckily I managed to have a decent nights sleep last night, so feeling quite a bit better this morning

Jay - Have you had any yet? We actually have the same due date! But you're not in Bris right?

Arlais yep not completely painful but uncomfortable enough to pull a face and small grunting to let it pass by!

I think I've been having BH for a while now. At first I thought it was just an uncomfortable sensation when I had a full bladder but two weeks ago I felt my tummy getting hard at the same time and freaked out it was too early to get them. My OB eased my fears.
Luckily it only lasts about 10 seconds for me and is just uncomfortable. But thanks for the heads up about them getting painful. I wish all the books, websites and apps I read tell you about all the 'normal' pains to expect to feel, then I wouldn't be so worried all the time!

Really Arlais? Thats not cool, everything you read and hear says they are painless. I hope they're not so intense all the time and you're able to rest.

I think it's so exciting that we are getting to this end and now talking about labour instead of dating and NT scans! I predict we will have our first baby within the next 3 weeks, let the countdown begin!!
