OMG! This time in 5 weeks I will be holding our baby!!!
Back to the conversation of a few days ago, I have to say that Ive only had very positive comments about our pregnancy, though you never know what has been said behind your back. Generally when people understand the circumstances I think they are more understanding.
Many people are quick to judge though. But they haven’t walked in our shoes.
KJ - Ive been drinking Gaviscon for quite a while now. I keep getting quite a burning sensation and sometimes in the middle of the night whilst Im sleeping it happens and it wakes me up. The Gaviscon does help.
Riss- I also had my heart set on the icandy but it wouldn’t fit in my car! I was so disappointed. Also was so complicated to fold! In the end we got the Silvercross wayfarer, and it was half the price. It was the only one I could get in the boot plus very simple to fold!
Bedlover and Jj yes tiredness is back again, especially after work every day I end up having a nana nap. Walking has slowed down too,but mainly due to a really sore groin area. Does anyone else have this?
Also every night I get the sorest hip and knee pain in bed. I know this is common.
Congratulations Arlais on being on maternity leave. I seriously cannot wait. 1.5 weeks to go, then another 6 weeks till we meet this little one. It’s so surreal that this is really happening.
ABH and KJ- thanks for the tips. I think I might go for the air ones too. What colours did you get? It's fun having a play with the colour combinations.
Teampanda- I haven't even factored in boot space. I have a sedan so hopefully there is enough room. That's disappointing the icandy is hard to fold. They make it look so easy on the videos that's what I liked about it. Don't want anything too complicated. My SIL has the bugaboo and at the beginning we spent over 10 mins trying to work out how to unfold it lol If I had the money I would get the 4moms origami that folds and unfolds on it's own hehe
That's awesome that some of you ladies are so close to having bubs! Yay can't wait to hear all your stories and see your little miracles.
thanks teampanda on the gaviscon tip, I have only had it that once when I went to bed and I took the dual action and it went near enough straight away so will be making sure I keep plenty in the house.
I was so excited choosing the colour Riss I did lots of different combinations but in the end I went slightly on the more conservative side I choose it the majority in black and the shopping basket in light blue. I just want it to be here now. I think it is supposed to be pretty easy to fold and unfold, one review did mention it takes a few attempts to work brakes but that's all.
ABH what a good idea I never thought about walking the dogs with the pram to get them used to it, will have to do this. I'm sure one of ours will want to ride into. We have two toy poodle and Coco will always sit down under a tree and refuse to budge halfway through a walk and DH always ends up carrying her, you can imagine my husband walking one toy poodle and holding the other on a walk its quite amusing always makes me giggle.
I am so upset I just got my GD results and I am positive to having diabetes I feel really guilty as if I have done this to myself and its all my fault even though I have been eating well it during the pregnancy. Gutted. Got OB appointment tomorrow to go over the details
I'm sorry KJ about your results. It is manageable though and from what I understand it disappears after birth.
Don't feel bad KJ, I eat really well and get regular exercise and my results were borderline. The hormones zooming around your body right now have a huge effect on your insulin resistance. In most cases, there isn't a lot you can do to prevent it , GDM is just one of this unfortunate things that can happen.
KJ35 - sorry to hear you have gd. Pls don't feel guilty, you may have done everything right but still ended up with it. I know plenty of ladies who did, big and small. I just narrowly missed, but have glucose in my wee now, weekly checks unless things change. The pen injections are so easy to use and hurt less than a bt, if that's what you need. Look after yourself and try not to stress
Don't be so hard on yourself KJ. x A DF of mine also got a positive when she had her test and she is a size 6 - 8 and eats pretty healthy and exercises. Of the people I know who had it during pregnancy, it hasn't been a problem after the birth. She also never got it with her first pregnancy, but got it with her second. You should be really proud of yourself, especially given all the stress, worry and complications you have had during your pregnancy and TTC. I hope you feel better once you speak to your OB.
Very cool AMPs 5 weeks is soooo close
A neighbour today said she wants to organise a baby shower for me I'm not good at being centre of attention so a little scary :/
Tks ladies so now have had GTT - didn't sleep much last night as kept dreaming of stuffing up and eating a lollies and having to start fasting all over haha but it went well found drink like strong green cordial so only side effect was I was thirsty for two hours then hungry after that. Now we wait. Have actually diabetes in my family so it'll be interesting to see if I can avoid just the GD version. Did find for some reason my skin was sensitive to the tape that held the cotton on after blood taken which is weird for me.
Pregnant for the first-time?
Not sure where to start? We can help!
