    Default Afternoon naps

We've let our nearly 6 month old fall into her own routine with sleep. She usually has a big nap 430/5pm. This sleep she can have anywhere from 1/2 hr to 2.5hrs. Just wondering how late it to late for an afternoon nap and should we be encouraging a shorter nap here then an earlier bed?

I guess it depends on what time you want her in bed and if she sleeps all night. If it isn't worrying you just go with it. It would be too late for my DD who has always gone to bed at 6pm, but didn't start sleeping through until 15 months.

Until 8.5 months of age my dd's last nap would finish around 5-5.30, in bed between 7-7.30. (3 naps a day, last one a cat nap). This was her natural routine.
If she's sleeping well at night and you ate happy with her bedtime I wouldn't muck with it?
I found the troublesome tots website- a page in particular called what baby sleep is normal?- gave a great guide on approximately awake times and ideal bedtimes for each age.
