I would personally not like to go to anywhere with political unrest. Japan has never appealed to me either (no offence to anyone!!)

I love Europe and would love t take my family to the Greek islands.

I think if you get to know the people of a country they might prove your assumptions of that country to be incorrect.[/QUOTE]

I found this when I went to America. I never wanted to go but once there the people were lovely especially NYC

I've been to Bali once. I'd rather go to new places.

We went for 2 weeks and never got sick drinking bottled water and eating at restaurants 3 meals a day. You just need to eat at nice looking places eg in resorts.

I have a few top of my list
russia, their laws (against lgbt ) and the way Putin and the government treats animals, I'm aware it's not the whole country and all Russians. Once Putin is out if power and laws changed I'd love to see it.
murritis (sp) borabora, the way women are treated,

(my list is short as I don't want to give money to places that are like those which being against visiting anywhere they mistreat lgbt cuts out 70 odd places)

any places travel adviser advisers against

But in saying that I would love the volunteer in Africa and a few other places

i want to go to Thailand and bali but I wouldn't feel comfortable taking my kids, but in saying that if I was given the opportunity I wouldn't turn it down, It just wouldn't be a first pick.

Nz is on my travel list.
