Question Can an IUD affect HPT results?

Hi everyone, first time poster here as I hadn't really been planning on joining a baby forum any time soon...but here I am!

I'm 28, have had the Mirena in for the last few years and had it removed at the start of January, around the 10th. Had my period the following day which lasted about 5-6 days. Seems like I have fallen pregnant around 2 weeks after removal.

This wasn't planned at all, but my biggest clue was excruciating nipple pain unlike I normally get with periods. I have been exhausted and crying over almost nothing lately. Today I've taken 3 HPTs, all with faint positives, except the last one which was definitely more obvious than the others.

While this was unplanned, I am over the moon which is a shock to me! But, I am cautious that there could be something in the Mirena which means it is dangerous to get pregnant so soon after removal, or is there something in the hormones which could create false positives such as this? I have an appointment tomorrow morning with the doctor for further testing. Thanks ladies

It sounds like you're pregnant?? Did you get tested?

I asked my doctor if it's safe to get pregnant straight after Mirena as well and she assured me it wouldn't affect pregnancy.
