@ertgirl. I've taken DHEA for most of my stims. I take them for about four to six weeks then stop a week before the scratch and then stay off. I've had no side affects that I know of. And welcome

Welcome! I think it's really easy to get caught up the numbers ... sure it would be great to have a higher number than 4, but that doesn't necessarily help. Mine is 12.9, but they can't get the little devils to respond to the meds and I'm having to use donor eggs. Whereas my friend has AMH of 1.2 (she's 34) and she fell pregnant naturally on her second try. Given you already have a little boy, I think your chances are good - even though your number is a little low they have shown they can do this! You only need one good 'un!

I've been on dhea for the last two months (my immune specialist said it was good to be on them for 3 months before cycle), I take 50mg a day and will stop the day of epu.

Oh and I had an amh of 1.5 at 38. I get about 4-6 eggs with above 75% fert rate! they just haven't stuck. Diagnosed with immune issues, so this will be my first cycle using those meds as well.

Hi everybody, this thread is really moving fast with lots happening. Good to see lots of over 40s joining the thread.
Sunny I had been wondering how you were going. I'm sorry you've had a bit of a tough time but your nearly there now. I hope the rest of the pregnancy is easier for you.
Precious that's great news that your hcg is going up.good luck for Mondays test.
Bertie I'm sorry this last cycle didn't work. But a big congratulations on your decision to move forward with your sisters eggs. It's fantastic that you have such a great relationship.
Chris yes I did the NIPTS. Well worth it for peace of mind. Sounds like you are hitting each milestone needed and your chances increase widely after week 7 and 8 when the major organs start forming.
Emski good luck on your big journey to SA, hope it goes well and looking forward to hearing about it.
Butterfly good luck for Monday. I'll be definitely checking in to see how you you went.
hi to everyone else, Springrain, Luca, Fingerscrossed, chiefsgirl, Vixjc, etgirl. And anyone else I've left out.

    Hi girls,

thanks for asking after me! Ertgirl, welcome here... I remember you sent me a lovely message after my miscarriage. I hope you find everyone here as helpful and supportive as I have over the last year or so.
Bertie - so sorry to hear your last cycle didn't go well... but exciting you're now moving on to a donor cycle. I'm not sure you'll find it too much different? I'm still jabbing clexane so can't avoid the jabbing unfortunately... the only difference for me is that I'm on estrogen tablets which have knocked me around a fair bit in regards to having a lot of headaches. If my cycle is successful I have to stay on them until 10 weeks
Panda good to see you on here and going from strength to strength with your pregnancy. Chris9 sounds like you're right on track too.
Springy - did I miss an update? How are you going... have you had transfer?
Butterfly I hope all goes well for EPU for you . Cheifsgirl how are you going?

Update from lovely Cape Town : I had my first appointment today and it all went well. My lining is looking good at 9.8mm thankfully... I'd been a bit worried after I didn't have much of a period at all. Donor is doing well and my Dr said she is very ''organised"' lol.
    EPU is scheduled for Monday.

    Em x

Emski great lining. The lining was always a big thing for me to as I use to get very light periods. They became very light on starting ivf, which really troubled me a lot. So that's good news. Good luck for Monday, you will be pupo again very soon!

Great news on the lining emski!

I'm doing ok. Getting very nervous about this cycle. I feel like I'm pinning all my hope on the immune treatment making everything work this time when it didn't on the other 4 tries! Start lucrin on tues so about 3 weeks till epu.

Emski... yes, I kind of thought that there'd still be jabs during a donor cycle. My DH will be happy to hear that!! I'm just keen to get started, but there's more waiting - have to wait til Mon as the donor nurse was away last week, then another week to see the FS to draw up a plan, then who knows how long on the pill to sync up cycles.... I'm really not very good at waiting, but again, nothing I ca do to change that.

How exciting, Monday EPU. How old is your donor? I have everything crossed for you. So looking forward to hearing all the details about SA, and the clinic, and comparisons with here and there. Good luck xx
