Hi everyone. I'm wondering if you mind me joining your board... I'm turning 40 in October and we're about to embark on IVF again.

I have three teenagers from a previous relationship which were all natural conceptions. In 2001 I had a tubal ligation. In 2010 I had it reversed but unfortunately it failed. My husband and I have a 14 month old son who is IVF and we want one more baby to complete our family.

I don't respond well to IVF treatment so I don't find the general IVF boards to be a good match for the issues I face, but I thought that you ladies can probably empathise with my situation better, even though I'm not actually over 40 yet

I'm about to read the full thread to get to know you all a bit

Hello everyone, i love hearing the good news stories. Thank you, it helps me keep my head in the game. So we are going for it. We are going to do the FET of both embryos. It kind of feels like it is over for this cycle anyway so nothing to lose really, other than a few days off work if I need another D&C!! I started sniffing today in preparation for transfer early April. So here we go again...

    Thanks for the welcome Threegoes.

I spent a good while reading all 20 pages of posts and by the end of it I felt an overwhelming sense of admiration for you all. Your journeys have been so very difficult, yet your hope and persistence is almost always unwavering. I feel that the ttc journey I'm about to face is much less of a battle than what most of you have already encountered.

We were very fortunate to have succeeded after two full stim cycles of ivf in 2012. I was on high doses of fsh and only got 3 eggs the first round (all fertilised but 2 arrested at day 2 and 1 put back day 3) and 5 eggs the second time but only 3 were mature (all fertilised but 1 arrested after 1 day, 1 was fragmented and the third was looking average. We had 2 put back on day 2. Both took but one perished at 5.5 weeks and 1 is now our 14 month old son).

I had another HSG test done in November 2013 which showed I now had 1 patent tube. We tried in November naturally then my fs said we could try clomid. After 3 failed cycles I decided to get a 2nd opinion. I had a hysteroscopy and laparascopy on Friday just gone with my new specialist. He said my uterus looks great but the left tube is completely unsalvageable. The right tube had adhesions which he tried to repair but he said a natural conception is highly unlikely.

I've just started taking COQ10, melatonin and inositol plus my fs put me on testosterone gel.

We're tossing up whether to try for a cycle in April or wait until May as it will give the supplements more time to work.

I had a quick run down of the protocol he'll use with me. From what I can remember, I'll be doing a short antagonist cycle with 900iu of fsh, an additional slow release version of the fsh drug, sazien and one other drug I can't remember the name of.

I'm feeling very nervous yet hopeful. I'm not expecting success from the first cycle but I still think we're in with a chance.

For those of you taking the same supplements as me, what doses do you take?

    Sorry for the mega post

@BecInBliss, welcome and congrats on your ds!

I can't help with the inositol or testosterone gel, but I've been talking. 600mg of coq10 but have just changed over to ubiquinol which they say is absorbed better. I also take 800mg fish oil, 50mg dhea, vit d, vit e, caltrate plus, megaflol, pregnancy pre-vitamins and zinc +c! sometimes I feel like I rattle I take so many!

They do say it takes about 3 months for supplements to take effect, but I've seen others have results immediately.

900iu of fsh is high , my FS will only put me on 450. I'm also on saizen and saw a difference last cycle when I used it. My feet swell pretty bad, but I found soaking in Epsom salts helped. We don't have a bath, but even a foot bath followed by elevating my legs helped.

Precious, I have only just seen your post now. Are you on any progesterone therapy? Because that can mimic af symptoms. Don't lose hope. How many days post transfer are you? I'd personally not be able to stop myself from poas from the equivalent of 10dpo.

Thanks Chief for the information on your supplements. What kind of vit d do you take? I have vit d3 but I don't know if that's what I should be taking.

I'm also taking vit c, omega 3 fish oil, conception multi, coenzyme b-complex, magnesium, iron, maca and damiana. The last two are herbal remedies for fertility. I've only just started taking everything so I have no idea how well it will work for me.

Oh and Precious, the cramping could be implantation, but I'm not sure how old your embie is so I'm stabbing in the dark.

    Hi girls.
My boobs hurt a lot... currently on 2 progynova a day - moving up to 3 on the weekend and then 4 just prior to leaving for Cape Town next week. God knows how they are going to feel by then!
I'm back using my old friend Clexane as well so have dug out the bruise cream from the bathroom cupboard and the prednisolone has made my hair fall out! Oh the joys of fertility treatment.
Getting excited and s**it scared at the same time now.
BeckinBliss - welcome to the thread, you'll find a lot of support here.
    to everyone.
    Em xx
