Default Lost blue book-4yo vax due.

Can I go to the gp and get his 4yo vax done without his book.
I have a letter from centrelink saying we are due, and can't get to the local session for another month because the sessions clash with work.

Yes, you don't need the book as the Dr will have all vax records anyway and the Dr also forwards it to the immunization register.

Check with your doctor surgery first as ours wont vax without the book regardless of them having the records on file

Yep, the book means absolutely nothing at the end of the day.

I've had my child care benefit scrapped because the GP didn't bother passing on details and medicare didn't recognise what was in the kids health books.

I think the book is really just for you own benefit.

So what would happen if you lost the book? You couldn't vaccinate your child any more with your local doctor? Plus no other place would have your records?

I forgot my book once, it was fine at my surgery, it's all on record and as pp said there is also the vaccination register.

That's ridiculous, his records would also presumably be on the immunisation register.

I lost my first DDs blue book, it was never an issue.

I only go off my doctors policy and they will not vax without the book. I know its silly but its their policy

I wonder what would happen if you lost your book? A doctor refusing to vax on that basis would likely find themselves in hot water!

I never used my books past 6 months. Everything is recorded with the immunisation register.
