No dishwasher here and dh very rarely does the dishes. They don't take long to do.

I don't have a dishwasher and I'm insanely jealous of everyone who does. my last house had one and I over looked the fact that this house doesn't we own so could technically put on in but there just isn't room

Well we have the if u cook u don't clean rule so DH usually does the dishes while I shower the kids, but he doesn't always do them which annoys me.

So maybe half the time they are done at night by DH and the other half they are done by me in the morning

Neither here. Would love the luxury of a dishwasher though...but nope, I suck it up and do it myself.

I just never gavr DH a choice in the beginning. If I am going to cook its not ok for him to sit and relax while I cook and then clean.

But it works well now cos while I cook he baths the kids and does a general tidy up and when he washes up I read to the kids and put them to bed.

I do them everyday mainly because I'm so OCD when it comes to the kitchen. The rest of the house could look like a bombs hit it... But as long as the kitchen is clean I feel like I've accomplished something when DH gets home haha.

I have a dishwasher though which makes life so much easier

We've only had a dishwasher for the last 12 months out of 18yrs together and I have usually always done the dishes. Dishwasher or not the benches etc all get wiped over each night. I grew up with a single mum who scraped to get by, never had a dishwasher and worked her butt off at night and still did the dishes 3x a day.

We also have the cooking vs dishes rule. I do most of the cooking, so DH does the dishes. They don't get done every day, but it doesn't bother me as long as I have what I need clean to do dinner the next night - DH will often wash up when I start preparing food.

On the weekends when we have DH's sons they are in charge of doing the dishes every day they're with us. They figured out pretty quickly that if they slack off and choose not to do the dishes at night, I don't cook breakfast for them! Bacon is very motivational

Dishes are always done as soon as meal time is over. It's dirty leaving dirty dishes in the sink ewwww. The kids are bathed and fed before dinner so no interruption to them.

I have a dishwasher but I'm too scabby to use it ... And no partner at all here

I am just in the habit of it. Seriously takes minimal time to do it.

Mine are done most nights. Usually in the dishwasher but sometimes hand washed depending how much we have. I hate them on the bench plus it's easier to clean them if it's not left for days.
