    Default Transitioning out of swaddle?

    Long story short:

    ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1391834096.297065.jpg

It's a hot day and after much fluffing around this is the only way I could get her to sleep. Love to dream swaddle up on, bottom zip undone do legs are free but arms still maintained. It seems to be the arms that is the key, although I'm certain she's lost the startle reflex.

I bought her a beautiful new sleeping bag from the SIDS website to help with the transition, it only arrived yesterday so haven't had a chance to use it yet but now I'm worried if I will need something like sleepy wings to go with it just so her arms are ok?

How did you wean your lo off being swaddled? Help!!

We used a miracle wrap for DD, then when we wanted to stop we went to spaghetti wraps then into the sleeping bag. When I first moved her to the spaghetti wraps I made sure to do it for a morning nap so if she freaked out at least I could get her back down again easily enough.

I had no issues though! I probably could have gone straight to the sleeping bag TBH.

    Good luck

What about the 50/50 version of the swaddle? It has press studs so you can remove the arm parts, maybe just start with one arm and see how baby copes? 1391838556041.jpg

Have you seen sleepy wings? They are an awesome transition as can be used with a sleeping bag or without

We used this with DD1 and found it really good. We did one arm out then took the other arm out once she got used to it then moved on to sleeping bags.

DD was wrapped in a large stretchy wrap to about 7 months. We got her out cos it was too hot. Started with one arm out for about 3-4 days then both. She was TERRIBLE for the first week, then has slept better than ever in her sleeping bag. We also introduced a comforter (blankie with bunny head) at the same time which she now loves. Bunny is now her favourite toy and goes everywhere with her!
    Good luck

The transitional LTD swaddles are great. The arms zip off so they can be used as a light weight sleeping bag latter. We've had DS2's arm out for about a week and it going really well.

ETA: DS2 is a little over 7 months
