I have a Phillips one I got in 2008. It still works fine.

I have naturally quite straight hair, so I don't actually require anything super strong like GHDs apparently are. Whenever they've been used on me in a salon, they've done nothing amazing for MY hair anyway.

I do mine most days because I wear my hair down to work these days.

Remington one. Not sure on model. Wasn't overly expensive though and works great!

I have a Muk straightener. It is fantastic. Better than my old GHD.
    My hairdresser uses it.
It gets my hair super smooth.
Cost $200. Make sure it is the ir200 (infrared).

I have a vs, had it for 12 months, straighten at least twice are week for long wavy hair. Hasn't missed a beat. Not sure on price but cheaper than the ghd i wanted and couldn't afford. Has temperature control and memory function.

I have two. A wide ghd ($350) I bought in 2008. I use this one when I straighten my hair completely. Then I have one narrow Remington ($39) I bought in 2010. I use this every morning to straighten my fringe.

I love my GHD! I got a new one recently, they are about $180 for a basic one now. I got mine off an eBay store- Sydney Salon Supplies- but when I checked out the prices on the GHD website it didn't look like they cost much more to buy off their website.
